Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Wow, it sounds lovely!" Artemis says happily.

A sheet of ice forms leading towards the forest, and Katie zooms ahead on an ice-board.

 

"Any pots on this island are likely to have been destroyed or damaged."

You can hear... a horse-like sound? in the distance. It seems to be coming from the ocean.

 

"What's that noise?" Artemis asks, looking toward the source of the sound.

 

"That is unfortunate. Looks like a I might have to get a chunk of the earth out from underneath the plants to carry them." I say, looking around the surroundings for anything interesting.

 

"I don't- oh, it's just Anna."
Artemis sees Anna riding on a Shadecorn. On water, because the water freezes underneath it.

You see what looks like a black unicorn galloping across the sea to the north. You can see Anna riding it.
Apart from that, the Birthlake still seems to be a while away.

 

"Wow, what a majestic creature." Artemis says.

"That. Looks. Badass." I say, appearing next to Artemis and taking her hand. Artemis smiles at me.

 

I wave at Anna.

 

Idala says, "They actually look very ice when we aren't fighting them."
Daras smiles.

She waves back at you and heads towards you.

 

"I'll keep looking, thanks."

"This grew because of the birthlake?"

"Sorry, none here. Best hope is to keep going northwest."

 

"Thanks. I'll be waiting near the outside of the hospital. Good luck." I say. I slide off the wagon and watch.

 

"No problem. I know who you are; many of us do. We're hoping to get on your good side. Hopefully, the guards can ask you a few questions later. We don't know much about the desert, and now that they're a threat to the rest of us, we'd like help being able to fight them."

 

"Only Katie is allowed to make ice puns, so your pun isn't funny." I say bluntly.

"It was actually pretty good. Don't let Aj kill the mood." Artemis says, smiling.

 

As I walk away, I nod. I watch the cart.

 

It stops for the gate, and a couple guards step out to talk to the driver. After a few seconds, the cart passes through easily.

One of the guards signals at you to come into town.

 

"Thanks." I say as I enter.

 

The guards nod.


It's a pretty straightforward walk to the hospital. When you get there, the doctor gets off the cart.
"Give me a minute to unlock the place, please."

 

I wait for him to unlock the hospital doors.

 

After a while, the front door swings open.
"Come on, help your friend out of the cart."

 

Looking around to make sure nobody can see, I help Opal out of the cart.

 

Nobody's in sight.
"Thanks."
Pause.
"You really lucked out here. Well... I lucked out even more. If there's a way I can repay you, let me know."
