"And what new skill might that be?"

 

"Well...by sacrificing your own rest, you make it so many people can sleep at night without fear of being killed!" Katie says, smiling.

 

"I'm learning how to sew. Kind of. Claws come in handy for getting the tiny thread through the tiny needle."

"I know, but I don't know how much longer I can last."

 

"That's cool. How far are you into learning?"
I smile at Iruk.

 

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Katie asks, concerned.

 

"I can sew things together and poke holes in stuff with my claws. I can't quite make seams tight enough to stay together very long."

"I don't know. There's a pretty big group where I sunk the Lost Kingdom, though, all of them armed... I just hope they don't come this way."

 

"Well, it's progress. And good progress, for someone who was specific designed to be a mercenary. You'll show them."
My smile becomes wider.

 

"Hm, well some of my friends where headed to the lost kingdom, maybe we can fight these armed people!" Katie says excitedly.

 

"That would be great, but they have a beast the size of Behemoth with them. I wouldn't want you to get mortally wounded, you seem like a sweet young girl."

"I hope. I'll keep working on it off to the side, though the stuff I found in some ruins isn't a lot to work with. Maybe I'll also find some thread that doesn't keep snapping when I pull at it."

 

"We'll find you some, eventually."
I turn towards Daras, and walk towards him.

"Hey, so where is this lake area? It sounds pretty nice."

 

"I'm sure we can handle it, we're powerful fighters. One of us even has a large pet, which I'm sure could take down their beast."

 

"A large pet? Wait... Are you friends with the king of the Lost Kingdom?!"

 

"Um, I'm not sure. The pet's called Rineth, he's really nice. Though I think the person who suggested the trip to the lost kingdom was called Eras? Or Daras, I get them mixed up, hee hee." Katie says, giggling.

 

"Daras?! That's our greatest threat, the king of the Lost Kingdom. I hope he doesn't come this way... I'm in no shape to fight."

 

"That's true." I reply, still walking aimlessly.

I fly back closer to the group.
"Portal going down in a few seconds! Last chance to get out of here!" I yell.

 

"Last chance if we never wanted to come. But I do want to see this lake. So I'll stay. But thanks for the warning."
I smile.

 

"Alright. I think we're all here now."

The portal closes.
"So, what are you all going to be looking at? I myself fancy some trekking through a forest, perhaps a duel with a beast. Maybe collect some samples of flowers for the disease."

 

"I think it was just that flower."

 

"Daras said there was a nice lake area. I'm looking forwards to that."
