Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"He'll be okay. He looked like he was in good hands."

 

"Heh, yeah." Artemis says.

Artemis hugs Sgavrinn a little tighter, "You really are the best pet, Sgavrinn." She says, cheering up slightly.

 

"Thank you." I reply.

It leads to a beach, a few inches away from the water.
OOC: I have no idea what Lost Kingsom looks like so this is also a shot at the dark xD

 

I take the job and start collecting used towels.

 

He hums a bit, content.

Once 10:30 hits, you're called to the employee's lounge to receive your wage.
You get a small bag of coins, but it's a bit heavier than the previous ones. However, you're getting pretty tired. Spending some of it to get coffee so you don't miss Opal's operation might be a good idea, or you can try to tough it out.

 

"Mhmm..." She'd look to the east for the conviently placed islands.

 

I walk up to the barkeeper. "Got anything to keep me awake?" I ask.

 

There's almost a path. Engravings on the ground point at a specific island chain.
You can see a sphere of lava in the distance.

"Old fashioned caffeine, or do you not care how you wake up tomorrow?"

 

Artemis hums a tune back, smiling and gently petting Sgavrinn. She cheers up quite a bit.

 

"Mind if I try practising what I've learnt so far?"

OOC: There's a map in the reference thread. Improvise from that, and you have an overgrown, forest area in the east, a beach in the north and a ruined city on a raised cliff in the south-west.

 

"I'll just take some coffee." I say.

 

OOC: This is the port thingy. It's kinda hard to interpret the map since cursive is hard for me to read :P

Off in the distance, there is what looks like (ruins?) a port.

 

Sgavrinn copies the tune, seeming to start to fall asleep.

"Go ahead. Let's see if what kind of learner's accent you picked up."

"Coming right up."
Less than a minute, he slides a coffee your way across the table.
"It isn't decaf, so don't worry about that."

 

OOC: The port was destroyed, so yeah, just general ruins.

"This looks like home..."
He goes back through the portal.

He says, "Hello, I am Arnold", in Dacori.

Daras comes back through the portal.
"The portal goes to the Lost Kingdom. I think it is anyway. It has ruins and it looked like I was in the north, so it had to be an island. If it isn't the Lost Kingdom, then it's another island with ruins, so the portal will probably bring us nearer to it anyway."

 

The draconian replies in Dacori.
"Simple, but not enough to see what learning style you use. Now, how did you get here? Explain in Dacori."

 

Arnold says, "I don't know. I read this", he points to the book, "then I am here."

 

"A triprune. That explains how the others who came here came to die. Why did only you come with the book?"

 

"Because only I was reading it?"

 

"But the triprune would only activate when read. Someone knows, then..."

 

"So someone else knows you are here?"
