    A dinosaur isn't a species but all of the sudspecies of dinosaurs are and a falcon is a subspecies of a bird not a dinosaur. I'm not going to say hey there's a dinosaur mommy when I see a bird flying around. Birds also showed up long after the dinosaurs became extinct so there is no concrete evidence that all birds or even one species of bird is in fact a dinosaur.

    I know that. Dinosauria is a humongous clade, much bigger than Mammalia. I don't even know what you're saying when you say "subspecies" because you are greatly misusing it.

    So this fossil of a birdlike dinosaur is supposed to prove to me that a peregrine falcon is a dinosaur

    How is subspecies being misused? Birds are a species. Falcons are a subspecies of a raptors which is a subspecies of birds

    Yes, it proves that birds evolved from dinosaurs, and because Dinosauria is a clade, that means birds are dinosaurs.

    Birds are not a species. Birds aren't even that well defined. Falcons are a genus, with 32 species. Peregrine Falcon is a species.

    Birds are related and descended from dinosaurs as are most animals anyways but birds didn't even appear till the dinosaurs were wiped out so just because birds are descended from dinosaurs doesn't mean that birds are dinosaurs. That's like saying I'm related to John A. MacDonald I'm gonna be prime minister of Canada
