Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I stroke Katie some more, but very slightly.

 

"They seem to be infected with some kind of poison. They were stabbed with a poisoned dagger while we were on the road." I reply. I pull the dagger out and set it on the table. "Recognize this poison?"

 

"Because they could make sure you are here if they use me to see you somehow?"

"Sounds like someone Mistress is against if you believe that..."
Arnold tries shutting them out.

Light collects around Anna. It seems to be a very faint lime green.
She directs the light to you.

You see a seemingly human person fighting a group of enemies and protecting innocent people behind them. Dead bodies lie all around.
Suddenly, the last enemy performs a very skilled move which involves them leaping towards them, rolling mid leap and stabbing upwards. The person falls to the ground, but the innocents have already escaped.

You see a similar battle again between a god and what seems to be a god, but somehow you know that they aren't. The god tries the exact same move. But before leap out of the way, the false god blasts a bolt of energy at them, killing them before they can finish the move.

And then you see many more pictures. Some involve seemingly normal people working their way into whole systems and organisations, eventually becoming important people, some even creating clones of those they know to preserve them after death. Others involve darker deeds, trying to kill those around them and slowly corrupting societies, though many of these fail at first. However, they increasingly succeed.

The final vision is of yet another duel. Another god fights off a single human, who is clearly losing. The human looks exactly like someone from a previous vision who assassinated many kings.
The god strikes them down.
However, as they die, many orbs of energy appear and kill the god, before raining down on the world. The entire planet shatters and collapses and pretty much melts under the energy released.
And within its remains lies the body, which seems to be awakening...

Your vision fades and you are exactly where you were, as if no time had passed.

 

The water around Katie seems to glow slightly, and you find it easier to stroke Katie despite the water being there.

 

I smile, knowing that this is Katie's doing, and that I helped her feel better.

 

After a while, the water starts draining again. Katie slowly wakes up.

 

"Hey."
I say, softly.
"Feeling better?"

 

A load of bubbles comes out. Katie sits up, out of the water, "Yeah. Everything feels really tranquil and nice. I feel great!" Katie says happily.

 

"Good. That's how I wanted you to feel. Are you going to stay in here for a bit more time?"
I continue to speak softly.

 

"I think it's probably time we went to see the others. They might be worried." Katie says, smiling.

 

"Alright."
I slowly let go of her back, put my goggle on, and go to pick my sword up from where I put it down when I first entered.

 

The cave starts draining incredibly fast, and Katie lies down and lets the water take her. She laughs as she gets dragged down the tunnel, clearly enjoying herself.

 

I look at her, smile, and laugh a bit, before picking up my sword and sheathing it.
I then start running after her, joining her in the water.

 

The water drags you through multiple tunnels, and a bright blue light up ahead lights most of the tunnel. You can see the crystals on Katie's trident glowing.

 

"We need a little time to study it. Can your friend make it fifteen more minutes?"

"Your presence is enough."


The link is almost broken...
"wh-- -r -u do--g"

 

I look at her, clearly in awe of the trident.
I also make sure I don't crash into any of the walls.

 

The walls feel surprisingly smooth. Katie looks back as she gets carried through the tunnels, waving at you and smiling. She puts her legs together, and a blue glow surrounds them. Once the glow disappears, she has her fish tail back.

Katie swims through the tunnels with her fish tail, going incredibly fast.

 

"Yes, he can make it another fifteen, but please try to hurry. He can't stay like this forever." I say. I take a seat in the waiting room.

 

I swim after her as fast as I can, which is not very fast compared to her.
I continue to make sure I don't hit any of the walls and injure myself.

 

After a bit of swimming, Katie eventually stops, waiting for you at one of the cross-tunnels.
