Serious [rant Warning] The Flaws Of The Wynncraft Community

The Wynncraft community has issues.

Hey everyone! So I wanted to talk about something that's been bugging me for a while, and after someone bringing my wedding up as if it was the scum of the earth, I figured today would be the day that I say exactly why the Wynncraft community isn't really the best community out there. Sure, we're far more mature than Mineplex, HiveMC, or Hypixel, but that doesn't mean we don't have our flaws.

For one, almost the ENTIRE community runs on first impressions. Don't get me wrong, some of the newer players/forumers can be idiots. But that doesn't mean they can change. I'm an example of this. Go to my profile, check my first few thread posts, and compare them to my newer ones. See the difference?

And here's the main problem I have: its OK for one person to do one thing, but when someone else does it, everyone freaks out. One good example of this would be my good friend @GASTEREKT. At @PillowPet's thanksgiving ball, he was in awe of how many people showed up! So, he figured he would make a christmas one! But things didn't work out for him, and instead he got swarms of hate which got so intense that the staff had to close the thread. And here's an example that has cut me fairly deep. Some of you may recall that wedding thread I made a few months back. That's lead to me being hated on quite a lot. People have called me autistic (which I am), the cancer of Wynncraft, gay, retarded, and pretty much every other cliche' insult on the internet. But Ganny and Sara get a pass (got nothing against those two, just saying its dumb that one person can do one thing, but no one else can)? And here's the best part: I was chatting in @LordMuttonChops "Wynn friends" chatroom, and I said that no one cares about guilds. And then someone left the rude reply of: "djkreeper, no one give a fuck about your wynncraft wedding, but you still tried to shove that thread down all of our throats.". I said, ganny and sara had a wedding without any beef, why should I get beef MONTHS after the last post on that thread?! I already got my fair share of crap on the thread, why should I get some now? Then someone else responded with:

Anyways, it may just be me not realizing that I'm an idiot, but what do you guys think of this? Have you had any experiences similar to mine, or do you have your own issues?

 

I know we have a few flaws, and I know I can be a bit of an ass as well, I run on a very skeptic and aggressive set mindset, I guess I just can't help it.

If you make a thread called "the senor cruuk-huud rant" and just have this sentence as the whole thread you'd be 100% correct

If someone were to make a thread in the suggestions thread that says that I should be FW, I'll tell them that this is an awful suggestion

In my opinion FW nominations are perfectly fine. That is IF it's a reasonable nomination and the thread is well developed.

 

Ah, the whole Christmas Dance thing with GASTEREKT. Pillowpet is one of those forumers that everyone seems to fanboy over for literally no reason, some people like him because of his news stuff, so naturally people are going to side with him since GASTER's first impression was that of spammer. Of course people got angry! People already hated him because of his spam (he's stopped now and I no longer judge him for the past), naturally pillow fanboys are against him! And besides, looking at the thread he did look like he got a lot of inspiration from it, this community is kinda harsh when it comes to that stuff.

Now on to the wedding. I wasn't that active when you posted your wedding thing, and I never really saw you get hate for it. But Wynn has over a million players on it, naturally you'll find someone who's rude.

And the reason no one hated Ganny's wedding may be because Ganny's a mod. Who knows, you hate you get banned! But that's just a theory I made while really tired and lazy so it's probably wrong

I really have something to say.

I was only a few months on the forums. I just wanted to become recognised and become slightly more popular. So I was inspired by the Thanksgiving Ball idea and wanted to form it into a Christmas Ball. Of course, I never intended to get the hate swarms. I just wanted an event for a major holiday. This was the first forums I ever joined. I couldn't tell which was spam or not!

 

I agree completely. This is why I tend to keep out of in game events organized on the forums.

(With the exception of Wynncon and Valkryie/Fox events)

 

Feel free to attend my future events. Usually the people there are fairly nice.

 

That's why I always loved you. You are un-biased and make posts spot on.

99% of people don't hate mods and will approve whatever they do, cause they are mods, people of power. Heck, even if they did something bad (*cough*brandon*cough*), they will rather sit idle than risk getting banned.

If you want people to take you seriously, you need to show you are charismatic and independently strong. When someone talks bad, you bitchslap them with a chair and shit on their carpet (don't do that). It's also important how you present yourself and your thread. If either of those impressions are bad, people will throw hate, not necessarily cause they disagree with you or don't like your event, but because they don't like you.

I also got served a plate of hate when I arrived. How did I fix it? I made quality content (that doesn't exist anymore (curse you coffee!)) and I talked "shit" about people who talked shit. Simple. Not saying you should be like me, cause I can be a pretty rude and aggressive motherfucker, but don't let others bully you cause they can.

Yeah, don't fucking do that. Cancer is a terrible thing, nothing that should be taken lightly. It's not a joke nor should be treated like one. People that use cancer to describe others are clueless, immature little brats. Don't be one of them.

 

Sorry, I would change it if I could. Also according to urban dictionary, calling something cancer on a website/forum, means you are ruining or killing said website/forum. I know cancer is a serious deal, as I have lost 3 of my great grandparents, and 2 cousins to that dragon, cancer (play that game and you'll get super emotional).

Hmph, events are made to have FUN in, but some people are complete lunatics...

 

I'd like to say that even if you didnt see it, we got alot of hate for our wedding.
Even people i considered friends called it cringe and hated it.

The fact is if i could do it over again i would still do it.
We shouldnt live our lives wanting to please everyone.
There will always be people close to you, and there will also be haters.

Our community is special, one of the reasons is because were small and close.This gives us a chance to get to know many of the members closely but also is a reason for some hate/flame wars.

Dont give up on us just yet, people will get over it eventually.
