    Hey!

SPYROHAWK here with a new theory about Qira and exactly how far her power extends!

You may or may not remember me (probobly the former) but I am back! And in my typical style, I feel like its only just to make a theory thread. Don't worry, no half-baked theories or spams this time. No big lore-changing theories. I have had three months to plan new theories and now I can finally bring one to you!

So assuming you know your basic Qira info, you should know that she was a powerful sorceress who had the power to create things. She filled her hive with her creations in which you fight in "The Hive" quest. The final boss is Qira herself and then you get a bunch of XP and some loot.

Her lore is very complex due to her power and how the Gavilian Government (Gavel Government? Don't worry, more about that in another thread) asked her to stay to her hive. We assumed that all of her creations stayed within her hive.

But what if we are wrong?

What if she started toying outside of the hive. Trying to create creatures that were not restricted to that small domain? I argue that she has.

Allow me to introduce you to two mobs: The Chimera and the Pseudodragon.

    Lets start with the Chimera.

    ---

If you have ever been to the Canyon of The Lost, you should know that the place is filled with Harpies, Hobgoblins, and Animal-People. But of all the Animal People (who teach tend to stay within their own part of the canyon) the Chimeras are by far the strangest. They appear to be a mixture of a cow, sheep, pig, and chicken and can be encountered in MANY places. From a cave with a cyclops to the mines of Theased all the way over to the open area next to Eltom and the cow-lab-thing.

But what makes these interesting is that they look all mashed together. All the other animals are clearly based off of one animal, but the chimera looks like Dr. Frankenstein tried to cut animals up and sewed them back together.

What if these were Qira's first attempt to create creatures outside of the Hive. Due to them being outside of her domain, she could not simply create things. But what she could do is use some templates (normal farm animals) and try to mold them into something new. She failed and molded them together. Upset at their new form, they attack any player who goes near.

    Possible? I think yes.

    ---

    Secondly we have the psuedodragons.

Now a while back (I say a while because it was minimum 3 months) I did a thread about the various Dragons and Dragon types that could be found in Gavel. Someone brought to my attention a mob called "pseudodragon". I have found these creatures in very remote locations, and never more than once at a time. I would say these would be Qira's latest attempts to create things outside of the hive.

If you don't know your word roots, thats ok because I am going to explain it anyway. The root "pseudo-" means "not genuine; sham". It can also be used to describe a plan before the real thing (peseudo-code). Now no matter what culture you think of, Dragons have always been something of high regard, respect, and dignity. Always something genuine. So imagine if Qira tried to create a dragon. Dragons are the most natural thing out there, so despite Qira's attempts, she could only create a mock-up version of a dragon. A pseudodragon.

These things are small in statue, as if they broke free while Qira was still creating them and they are only half-formed. But even more importantly, they have dignity. They understand that the way they were brought into this world was wrong, so now they are angry!

But at who? They realize if anyone can beat Qira, its the player. Psueodragons have blue name tags. They fight hostile mobs and protect the player. Why? Perhaps so revenge can finally be gotten on Qira?

    ---

In conclusion, I believe Qira may be doing a bit more creating than we think. She could be testing, toying, seeing just how much she can do while still in her hive.

I AM IN NO WAY SAYING THIS IS CORRECT. All of this is just assumption and guessing, there is no real evidence about this. Its just a small theory I had that I thought could make sense. I am not syaing its right or wrong, I am saying its a possibility.

    Well, that's all for today!

    Al Simula

    SPYROHAWK

So this being my first thread back I feel like this is a good spot to talk about why I vanished for three months. I left right after that thread where everyone was hating on theories, and it may have looked like that's why I left. THAT IS NOT WHY. I left due to come personal issues that were going on and I thought it would only take around a month, hence why I said a month on my leaving post. But it ended up taking more time and taking up three months. I was able to log in as a guest to peek around sometimes, but I was not able to actually get to my account and do anything. But now everything has settled back into place and I am back to theory making!

Also I 100% agree now that Dern is a province not a realm. Sorry about that to @YunoHasAKnife and @PillowPet and everyone else I annoyed in that argument. When the website was updated they added an "about" section which talked about "4 provinces". So unless Corkus really is coming, Dern is the fourth province. Once again, sorry about that.

Are we sure about that. Do we know if it's a single government or multiple? We have evidence for both. A LOT of evidence for both. That's what I plan for my next thread to be about.

I disagree about the Chimera mobs, mostly because of their location and context. One of the only places these mobs appear in is the particular section of the canyon where the mad scientist (I can't recall his name) from Cowfusion has set up his lab. Knowing this guy's bizarre fascination with cows and his even more bizzare experiments, I wouldn't be surprised if these abominations were byproducts of his experimentation, rather than Qira's.

I assume you are talking about the WynnExcavation situation, where the society claims they are under a rule "higher than that of royalty". If we go with the idea that a province is the size of a continent (extremely likely) then a single government would be unable to rule it. If there are multiple governments for all the areas within Gavel, whom all have connections to these people that are supposedly higher than royalty, then you could call that a single government, in which case it makes perfect sense.

I did not have the correct spelling on hand. Will fix in the morning.

No, I believe Ozoth was a real dragon from the heights. In this theory Qira could not create a dragon, hence why we have "fake" dragons

Just gonna say the pseudo-dragons are a common part of fantasy lore. They are usually smaller dragons, that don't reach larger states, and are usually pets of wizards and stuff. Whether they are artificial creations or natural creatures depends on your fantasy realm and mage.

I would think the same thing, except you are incorrect. The mobs appear in more than just near the lab. What you say did in fact cross my mind, and I was actually thinking of adding that possibility to the post.

    BUT

The mods are found in more than just that area. I know there is a cave near Kadanon-Beda (sorry for bad spelling) with them, they are ALL OVER the Theased mines, and in many other parts of the canyon. If they were just in that one spot I would agree, but they are in way more spots.

That really is a conversation for another thread. But since you brought it up.

Wynn has multiple governments, mainly run under th kings of Ragni and Troms. We also know that he banks of Detlas and Almuj "run" the city and if the bank trusts you, the city trusts you and vice versa. On top of that there is the guild system which is like mini-governments.

As of yet the only "government" we have seen is the that elven illuminati government thing, the orcs have a head Orc, the trolls having a king, the gurts having a leader, and the dwarves. The dwarves have one king who is in charge of Thanos and Dogovi and another King in charge of roronoc (sorry for spelling once again, it's really late right now). This gives the impression of several governments.

However there are two sides to this coin. The Knights around ahsmord and at the camps near the swamp and dark forest are just labeled "Gavellian" not Oluxian or anything. Just "Gavellian knight" or "Gavellian soldier". On top of this in the quest "generals orders" we see a legit army camp/city. It seems to belong to a central provincial military rather than to a specific town.

And then we also have the matter that the guild hall is located in gavel despite not having and guild territories there.

But anyway, that's my next thread. Food for thought.

Seeing as a lot of enemies are inspired from DnD (Stirges, Ropers, etc) the Pseudodragon is most likely the same. Now as chimeras are typically a goat dragon and lion mix so I think that is much more solid. Over all, nice theory. Hoping to see more like this.

I was not aware that most were from DnD. A bunch of them I recognized from normal folklore. The more you know I guess...

And from Greek mythology a Chimera was a mix for a lion, goat, and snake. But in modern biology a chimera just means any result when two or more organisms are spliced together.
