Like I don't know if it's just because we had two really gaps between 1.7 and 1.8, and 1.8 and 1.9, but it has been really quick! We have had 2 1.10 snapshots and its been around 3 or 4 months after 1.9.

Anyway, the pre-release is here and I am super stoked for it. Not too much, but it's enough to make a difference.

I would just like to know, would you guys like small updates that are released frequently? Or big updates about every year? Just to start a discussion. Also, what's your favorite new addition? My personal favorite is the Structure block!

Smaller updates more frequently, it's ridiculous having to wait over a year for what amounts to a few new blocks and changed game mechanics when other multi-billion-dollar game studios can get so much more done in that time.

true, true. There is a sort of suspense to the update when it takes awhile. But yeah, a year is quite awhile.

Your right, structure blocks are really nice. I would prefer smaller updates, because I don't have to wait so long and then there are over a while some new things and I never get bored

Smaller updates, but not this fast. I want to get the hang of something without getting even more new stuff.

I want larger updates happening yearly. Because fast updates mean that servers and mods (NOT the staff kind) will find it hard to keep up, and will most likely give up trying.

Yeah, but other studios don't care for the modding community or large player servers. Minecraft has to, it's one of the few things keeping the game fresh.

Actually, I don't know why people keep thinking mods and servers will have a hard time updating.

Here is the thing. The faster the update, the easier it will be to update servers and mods. 1.10 purely contains content updates (blocks, mobs, items). This means that it will be really easy to update plugins and mods to be compatible with servers. Reason why it was hard to update to 1.8 was because 1.8 brought major revamps the block ID system and models and the sort. Forge had to change a lot in order to be compatible with it.

I could be wrong here, but that's I what I think is true.

Now is the second pre-realese out...

The thing is; they could make updates like every 2-3 months and the servers/mods could keep up, but te problem is most on the "bug fix" updates like 19.1 or 1.9.4. They are the ones cousing most trouble becouse even if it says that every 1.8.x or 1.9.x is compatible it doesnt work on servers and especially not mods

But they are just that. Bug fixes. Might not be compatible, but give it a week or so, it will update.

Also, Minecraft mods are never 1.8.x or 1.9.x or 1.7.x. It is usually specific to each patch.

    That doesn't make a difference.

microsoft isn't touching the game at all
They are just giving them the resources.

They need to develop the game to its full potential.
1.10 was just a quick update they wanted, to release before work.

On the next mayor update for minecraft.

    Thank me later...

But Mojang isn't necessarily developing Minecraft Updates faster because they have more resources. It's just because there is less content to develop.
