Igbar?

Soooooo... what happened to Igbar? Did he get banned? If so why? I have only come back to wynncraft in March so I don't know much about what happened when I was gone.

He did something bad, and it affect the community (I think?)

He felt guilty and left

 

none of the above. He is still swimming around in the Nesaak lake with squidward and his squad. He did not want to be a mod anymore ,so he "retired". @IgbarVonSquid™

 

Igbar left on his own to focus on other things I believe. However, he does come on forums once in a while i think.

 

From what i know, he did a review of wynn and told his opinion on the wynncraft system.
He said some bad things that we pretty much all can agree on, grinding mostly. And it did somethin to wynncraft that made it less popular so he felt guilty and left.

 

He started leaving before that video tho (if I remember correctly)


But yea he left WynnCraft because he didn't like the absurd amount of grinding (and the insane amount of unneeded boss fights)

 

He left because Wynncraft got boring for him, THEN he made a video criticising Wynn's "faults" which to some degree I agree with, because grinding spots seem easy to make according to what's on the official GM doc. But I digress, then he realized the amount of people who disagreed and some that straight out HATED on him, including Grian, some mods, and multiple members of the community.
He then made an apology video apologizing to Grian in specific, and he continues to make videos, just not Wynncraft videos. His last viseo was pretty funny tho.

Anyway, wb to Wynncraft.

 

Can confirm. Igbar did nothing "bad" except have an opinion on one of his videos. Said video did not affect Wynncraft's popularity at all (that we know of), and he never really said he was bored either. Perhaps there was more important things that caused him to leave? He left Wynncraft as if a man (or squid) dying of old age; at peace and ready to ascend (or descend). ;)

Honestly the twisted misconceptions about why he left gives me a sick feeling in my stomache.

Yes, he did. But it did not go hand in hand in why he left. It was his criticisms of Wynncraft that he had not said before. He left but still wanted to give his advice. Also, none of the staff hate Igbar, no matter how they feel about that video. Igbar will always hold a special place in our hearts.

 

Did he ever state why he left in the video then?
I'm pretty sure he just said he was bored.
And the video is deleted/privated, so we can't watch it.

he left because he prefers the simplicity of pre-gavel wynncraft, now with all the complicated element and new systems he has lost interested in readjusting.
the said video is posted way after he left, that he said after he left he had a lot of time playing other RPG and found wynncraft have a list of flaws, he also made some accusation and improvement suggestions that is against the current direction of server development so they probably have some internal argument so igbar made an apology video, i guess thats why you guys think he left because of the video

EDIT: sorry for the rage, I'm a big fan of Igbar and I admire his works, I just feel that I cannot allow you guys to have random guesses that may turns into rumours that disgrace his legacy

 

The video isn't about why he left but how Wynncraft can improve. As @omgsara and @Legoingar said above, he simply moved on. If you don't believe me, believe omgsara, who is quite an old and aware member herself.

 

I never said he left because of his criticisms in the video.
I just said he got bored of WC, left, AND THEN made a video talking about all wynn criticisms he had, probably since the release of Gavel or before.

 

I know, I just tagged all the guys above me to let all you guys know the truth

 

In fact, the vid and the reason why he left is probably completely unrelated.
I'm just wondering if he had stated his reasoning in the video, which apparently he did.

It has nothing to do with his videos. I spoke with him personally after he left and he simply moved on and due to irl things didnt have the time any longer.
Hes always going to be a good friend and will be missed, thinking he left because he disliked wynn or how it ended up is just false.
