Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

By now, I just let the shurikens hit me.

I then stop flying, and sit, watching them.

 

Abigail just hugs Stephanie tighter.

"Abigail...stop...hugging so tight...I'm going to...fall in..." Stephanie says, half-pulling Abigail's skeleton out of the pool.

"Ugh, great. Now I have to deal with that when I get back from almost being dead."

 

I jog over next to the pool.
"Hey, uh... need some help?"
I ask Stephanie.

 

"I'm kidding. Shadow Stephanie'll probably be upset, though."

 

"N-No, I'm fine..." Stephanie says, "Abigail's pretty light, actually."

Half of Abigail's skeleton is out of the pool. Rather creepy looking.

"Yeah, she doesn't like it when I get hurt badly. We look out for each other."

 

"Alright."
I keep looking at Abigail, not much reacting.
"Perchance because she's a skeleton."

 

"Well, good luck with that when it comes."

 

Abigail finally lets go.

"I guess you could say I don't weigh a skele-ton." Abigail says, trying to smile.

"You really need to put more backbone into your jokes, Abigail." Stephanie says, smiling.

"Thanks. I'll get back to healing, now."

 

"You people a not good comedians."
I say, smiling.

 

"What? Do my puns not tickle your funnybone?" Abigail asks.

"You know, I had a feeling in my bones you'd say that." Stephanie says.

 

"Well, you're at least in a better mood, Abigail."
I say, still smiling.

 

"Yeah, being six for a bit tends to restore some of that childhood innocence." Abigail says.

 

"If you put it that way, then I guess I'm lucky for a few more months."
Pause.
"Possibly, anyways."

 

"What?" Abigail asks, confused, tilting her head to the side.

 

"Oh. I never told you? I'm not actually that old. About 6 to 8 years, actually."

 

"Huh, well, you are a robot. You don't really 'grow', since you already know most things," Abigail says, "Besides, you don't act like you're that young."

 

"Fair enough. And thanks."

 

Stephanie smiles at you. Her hair seems to have faded back to black.

Abigail clicks her skeletal fingers on the ground beside her lava pool, bored.

 

"How long do you think it'll take for you to regenerate?"
I ask Abigail.

 

I follow the person, being keen to look as foreign as possible.
