Pre-gavel Armor

So I have this chest plate that didn't update on my mage apparently, and it's still pre-gavel.
It isn't vanilla though.
Is it against the rules to have it or trade it? Or should I throw it away?

I think I saw somewhere that you are allowed to have it, just not trade it.

you are allowed to own but not sell it.
because it's just a junk item at this point it just takes up an inventory slot most people throw them out.

 

Are you maybe playing in 1.9?
If you switch to 1.8, it might magically fix itself! (Or it might not, I don't know)

 

Maybe you should just keep it, as a little souvenir of the past.
