Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What isn't funny?" My voice echoes from nowhere.

Katie smashes one of her ice warriors, then another, screaming a battle cry and covering herself in water, before laughing and falling back into the hot spring.

 

"Your girlfriend passed out and you're still messing with me. Give it a rest."
Pause.
"Also, Ihra's being clingy."
Her staff is lodged between two scales on Rineth's neck. She's still hugging him.


Ruby floats over near Katie.
"Getting a bit fiesty, eh?"

 

"I'm not messing with you, I'm just..." My voice fades away.

"It's just fun to feel like you're powerful, crushing those weaker than you and covering yourself in their blood." Katie says happily. The last ice warrior rips the head off the second to last warrior, and holds it up victoriously.

"I sometimes battle giant icy warriors in my ice form underwater back home. Its fun to get into slightly risky situations." Katie says, thinking back.

 

"Aj?"


"Well, I can't deny that. But, that makes it sound like you're saying you aren't powerful. You really are, but you're up against equally strong or stronger opponents. Defeating them, even if it's with your friends, should make you feel even greater. As for risky situations, I'm pretty sure this whole mess is a big one."

 

My voice remains silent.

"Yeah, I guess I'm pretty strong when I want to be. I just feel like I'm not exactly strong on my own, I need support," Katie says, "I mean...what if I didn't have access to the powers of a water guardian? I don't think I could fight what we've fought and survive..."

 

"Aj? Are you okay?"


"But you are a water guardian. It doesn't matter what you'd be like the way you aren't. We're here, like this, every one of us. We all have our own motives, our own goals."

 

Silence...

"Yeah, thanks Ruby. I guess I know how to defeat an enemy or two." Katie says, smiling and getting out of the hot spring. She picks up the victorious ice warrior and runs a short ways away, staring to form him into a much larger ice warrior.

 

"Myria, what happened to Aj?"


"No problem."

Ragnyon pokes her head out of the spring, curious.

 

Myria looks around, her eyes glowing slightly.

"I'm not sure. He seems to have disappeared completely, I can't sense him at all." Myria says, slightly concerned.


The ice warrior now stands at about ten times the size of Katie, and Katie seems to be forming her ice version of herself, matching the size of the icy warrior.

 

"Ugh. This really isn't funny, Aj!"


"What the...?"
"Let her have her fun."

 

Nothing...

The pair of giant ice forms bow to each other, before Katie starts beating the living water out of the warrior, rather aggressively. Ice shards fly everywhere.

 

"Stephanie? Could you do something to find Aj?"


Both Ruby and Ragnyon just watch.

 

"This will do." I encase the plates in bubbles and teleport back to where Ren is.
-Group-
A certain black dragon flies over to Rineth. "Oh good, you're not wooden anymore!"

 

You can hear him, just not see him.
"You're back, king?"
You can see a bit of dust he kicks up whilst standing up.
"I just ate."

"Correct. Ihra brought me back."

 

"This is a bit worrying, considering how AJ can be..."
I add.

 

"Not really, unless I do something drastic, which I don't especially want to do." Stephanie says, staring into an empty phial.

Katie lifts the ice warrior up and smashes it in half over her knee, throwing the two halves to the ground. Katie beats her chest and roars victoriously.

The two halves of the ice warrior melt and reform. The pair bow again, but this time the ice warrior becomes more offensive, forcing Katie to block and counter his attacks.

 

"Also true."

"Alright.
...of course he throws me a curveball the moment I get back from the dead..."

 

"I'll keep an eye out for anything."

 

"Yes. These are food for when you get hungry again. You don't need to finish them, you can eat the rest later if you can't finish."

"I find it thoroughly amazing how so far, you're the only one not commenting on the fact that I'm a dragon. Anyways, you know how you're searching for Aj? Well, it's probably a trap. I have a feeling he's going to jump on you, or something."

 

"I'm sure he'll be back soon...hopefully." Stephanie says, summoning a crystal-eyed stone golem in both hands. She places it on the ground and it starts looking around, the crystals on its eyes glowing.

The ground shakes as the large ice Katie moves to dodge the various punches the ice warrior throws at her.
