Build Cool Terrain Stuff (+door ;oooo)

I made something that I think is pretty cool, so I thought I would put it here for the likes you guys to see!
I haven't decided what kind of blocks it should have, like if it should be rocky or grassy.. (aka i'm asking you people to tell me cause idk)

Also look at that FPS! That's some good stuff right there..

I am guessing you looked at the pictures before you read this, so I'll go on from that :p
I Would like that you people reply to this with constructive criticism and not "LOL IT SUCKS ASS KYS" :D

 

Put some gravel and andesite into it, then again you could do other things, it is really hard to suggest things when people don't know what you exactly are going for.
PS: try to make the town with lots of wood, and emerald blocks for design for the larger buildings, that will be a nice contrast to all the stone.

oops, I didn't mean "lots of emerald blocks" that would look kinda wierd, I meant some emerald blocks for design and make colored roofs, with stained clay, possibly green clay!

Are you going to have water in the lowest alcove by the sand? If so, depending on the depth you have it, I'd be giving the sandbank a bit more of a gradient to the ground, to resemble the flow of the water crashing on the bank. If not, then maybe thinning out how much sand is there would work a bit better, rather than having a 'solid' amount all in one place.
The alcove kind of reminds me of a pirate cove... It looks like a ship would fit nicely in there.

Love the shaping though, that would even be gorgeous as a simple landscape without buildings (aside from the vastly flat space, that'd have to have more varying levels for a natural landscape).

As Kaelan said above, mixing in more variants of stone would break up the solid block of it, but we don't really know where you intend to go with it in general.

Can I have a little guide on how to make that kind of terrain and how much time it took you?
I'm getting into the spawn making business and it would be nice if I could make some terrain that doesn't like a failed abortion of grian's terraforming tutorial :P

 

Lots of /b e melt and /b b, a bit of /b bb
