"She's what?"

"I never thought I'd meet a part of Mistress."
"No tracker?"
"Someone helped me get it off."
"That's nice..."

"I sense a Fragment of Decay!"
"Ruby...? What're you doing out of the library?"
"Long story. One for later."

 

"Alright, I've figured out how to duplicate these generators. I guess we just have to wait for Stephanie to wake up from her power nap and we can start work on creating more blades." Abigail says, walking over. A complex looking code is on her visor.

 

Iruk seems to calm down hearing this.
"That's a relief."

"So, the group has grown... How have things been since I headed out? I..."
She pauses.
"I don't see Rineth."
Ihra immediately goes pale.

 

"Yeah, he..."
I look towards Ihra for confirmation to say this.

 

"Accidents happen."

 

"He's gone."
"I... I... I'm so sorry... I didn't know... Just pretend I didn't bring it up..."

Ihra's clearly fighting tears.

 

I clearly look dejected, now.

 

"Acceptance is an important part of grieving, Ihra. I'm glad to see that you're not lying to yourself about the reality of things."

 

"Map?" I ask. "What map?"

 

Artemis walks over to Ihra and hugs her.

"I believe he died when we were fighting Xlentia," I say, "Though we're strong enough to protect Ihra without Rineth's help."

Myria sits down and starts meditating.

 

"Thirteen? You okay?"

"Shut up."

"You just came out of the inn, didn't you? How could you have missed the map?"

Ihra hugs her back, still fighting tears.

 

"Anger is also part." I then proceed to yawn, realizing I haven't slept in a couple of days.

 

"It's ok, Ihra. We're here for you." Artemis says calmly.

 

"Yeah. I'm fine."

 

"I didn't see one." I reply. I look around. "Could you tell me where this map is?" I ask.

 

"Please, sleep. You'll be testing my nerves less that way."

"Thanks..."
"Ihra, we'll all make it if we keep on. Stopping is our problem."
"Right. I... I know."
She sighs.
"I wonder what else is in my nightmares. I hate to bring it up, but Nyre isn't the only thing."

"You sure?"

Avis sniffs at your foot, then tries to gnaw on it. Her tiny teeth hardly scratch you.

"Check the front doors." He grumbles, then waves a dirty rag at you to shoo you off.

 

"Yes."
I put my foot back a bit.
"Don't bite that."

 

"Fine, fine." I reply, immediately collapsing onto the ground and falling asleep.

 

She looks at you in terror as you move it back, then flutters back to Xephyr's shoulder.

Ihra just looks at you while asleep.
"That was easier than I expected..." She grumbles.

 

I simply smile at her, then look back at Stephanie.
