Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Let's not. There's gotta be a way we can kill him without bringing that... back. He persisted after I woke up, so maybe it's a matter of getting me to sleep and waking me up fast, then we can see what we can do to kill him."

 

"Shadow Katana it is, then. Slice him through multiple layers of reality, while slicing him on none," I say, "Artemis, would you do the honours of making Ihra unconscious."

Artemis puts her hand up, fingers ready to snap.

 

"Oh... heheh... I, uh... didn't mean now..."
Ihra backs into the spring, shrieking as she falls into the water.


Something's running towards you in the distance, and the air in their direction chills.

 

Katie swims up to Ihra and helps her out of the water.

Artemis, Myria and I notice the thing running towards us. I disappear, Artemis readies her bow and Myria summons her scythe.

"Uh, what's that thing?" Artemis asks.

 

"Thanks..."
Ihra coughs up a bit of water.


"Wait, what thing?"

It's a draconian. Sky blue robe, something on their shoulder, dark tome.
Vaguely familiar.

 

Artemis fires a few paralysing arrows at the draconian, and Myria jams her hand into the ground. Wooden clones of herself rise up and start running toward the draconian, scythes ready.

 

A wall of ice separates them sliding to a halt and your offensive.
"AJ! IHRA! IT'S JUST ME!" They shout.

"Xephyr?" Ihra mutters, looking in the direction of the ice wall.

 

The group of wooden Myrias dive underground, jumping out and holding their scythes to the neck of the draconian. I remain unseen.

Artemis fires an arrow at the wall of ice, that grows and becomes sharper as it flies, damaging the ice wall. Artemis continues firing these arrows at the ice wall.

 

"Oh no, they disappeared too? Avis, honey, you'll be okay..."
A small hatchling clutches her back as it looks to avoid the scythes.

"Ihra better be alive..."
The ice wall shatters, and the air around the draconian is freezing.

Ihra pushes Artemis' bow off to the side.
"That's Xephyr! Stop shooting!"

 

"What?" Artemis says, confused.

I appear a short distance behind Xephyr and run towards her, leaping into the air and pointing Shadow Katana down on her.

 

"Aj! It's just me!"
The air around her becomes too cold for the wooden clones of Myria to stay intact. They start to crack.


"Xephyr! Don't you remember?! The Fragment of Decay that wanted to serve Eras!"

 

"Huh?" I say, changing my orientation in the air. I end up flying over Xephyr and rolling on the ground in front of her.

"Why the heck didn't you say before?" I say, getting up and dusting myself off. The cold doesn't seem to affect me.

Myria's wooden clones shatter apart.

 

"I thought you'd remember, I'm sorry..."
The hatchling peeks nervously at you over Xephyr's shoulder.

"This is Avis, a special little orphan that I got out of a nursery. They say she was a troublemaker, but she just seemed like a sweetheart to me."



"Please tell me you didn't shoot her." Ihra mutters.

 

"Hey Avis!" I say, reaching my hand out to the hatchling, "What's special about her? Is she the mortalborn?"


"I don't think any of my arrows were able to hit." Artemis says, somewhat disappointed.

 

I fly over to Xephyr.
"Who are you?"

 

Avis sniffs at your hand, then wraps herself around Xephyr's neck.
"She's of a species that's being hunted to extinction. Poor girl was an orphan."

Avis coos as Xephyr feeds her an ice shard.


"Good, because Xephyr isn't an enemy."

"My name is Xephyr. I serve master Eras, but I went off to help- uh... Are you a Voidwalker?"

 

"Yes, yes I am." I reply, clearly lying.

"Nah, I'm just joking. I just stole Revert off a draconian."

 

"Aw, you poor thing. Why are they hunting her?" I ask, curious.


"I know, but we've had enough trouble with draconians already. I see one running towards us and I automatically assume they're hostile." Artemis says.

 

"O-oh... well, I'm a Fragment of Decay. I suppose that means you know my fallen Mistress."

 

"Yes, it is Xlentia. She's not in the palace as of now though."
