Ok, this summer I am building a gaming PC. I only need to get the processor. I am going to use it to play games such as Wynncraft because my dads computer(which I currently use) doesn't have a graphics card. He only uses it to make excel spreadsheets about Clash Of Clans( for some reason) and to read the New York Times about three times a month. I have two options, buy an i5-4460 for $169.99 or get a cheap Pentium G3250 and switch it with his i5-4440. He never uses his computer and when he does he does nothing that requires an i5. (btw i wasn't sure if I should put this in Wynncraft or your works, it kinda has to do with Wynncraft so don't bother arguing over it in the comments)

I suggest you should save to get a better one (unless the one you could take is amazing then take it!)

You don't need a high performance graphics card for minecraft... let's be honest here, I'm playing it on a macbook pro and it can run high graphics well actually. Maybe you could add some more ram if you think the FPS is low or your computer can't handle minecraft. Maybe close some programs if you can't get more ram. Your dad's computer probably has a standard of 4gb of ram which is plenty.

Now for a gaming PC, if you plan on playing games that recommend a high quality graphics card then you could get away with a cheaper one that would run well. But there is no sense investing in a full on gaming pc if you're only going to play minecraft. But if you already have all the parts but the graphics card, buy a cheap one to start, save some money and then buy a more expensive one down the line.

Well, if @Colinth22 is only going to use this for minecraft, I see your point. But if they are going to use it for something else, then I would argue to get it.
