Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I am truly taken aback by your feat, good sir!" I say, pretending to be shocked.


"Well, you got the right gal for the job." Abigail says, throwing a fireball up and catching it.


"I-I can't...e-everything that h-happened...I n-need ai-air..." Stephanie manages to say, before falling backwards and fainting.

"I could probably figure out what makes them work if you gave me one, then I could produce some more with the right materials." Abigail says, glancing toward me.

"Yes, I'll supply them." I say, half sighing.


Artemis climbs onto Sgavrinn's back, "Let's go!" She says happily.

 

"Ruby's got a ton extra."

"Shit!"
I say, going beside Stephanie.
"Do you guys know what might've happened to her?"

 

Ruby drops a blade near Abigail.
"Remember, those things are like his life force. He loses all of his, and he gets shut down."
"Thirteen was kind enough to give me a chance at a different life. I'll do my best not to waste it."
He kneels to you.


Sgavrinn takes off towards the nearest forest.
"She usually stays near foliage, right?"

 

"Nice!" Abigail says happily.


"Well, she was originally planning to murder you with a chainsaw, took of her rage on a beast from my realm, got eaten and her legs broken, then almost died. I can only assume you unearthed what she tried to bury in her mind." I say.

Abigail picks up the blade and starts observing every part of it.

"Uh, ok," I say, puzzled, "We're equals, you don't need to kneel to me."


"Yeah, that's where we're more comfortable." Artemis says.

There's a rather large tree in what looks like the middle of the forest.

 

I pause for a moment, comprehending what you said.
"Oh. Well then."
I check if she's still breathing.

 

"Err... right. Sorry. I was warned that I might not be... appealing. I am engineered by The Hive for the sole purpose to kill... I know that's a pretty sour first note."

Sgavrinn flies towards the tree.
"Maybe there?"

 

She's just fainted, her breathing seems somewhat normal, albeit fast.

"I used to go on contracts to go kill people, and my entire race is considered 'genocidal demons', so it's not really much to me." I say, smiling.


"Yeah, that looks like where she'd be!" Artemis says happily.

There seems to be something strange about the tree. The leaves are a spectrum of colours, some red, some yellow, some even blue.

 

I sit down, and stick by her.

"Alright. Glad to see you're fine with Iruk joining us."

 

Stephanie turns, and murmurs. She seems to be having a bad dream...or a bad memory.


"You've been fine with having Myria around, I think it'd be wrong if I started being against your friends." I say happily.

 

"Well, I suppose that's essentially my situation. I'll do what I can."


Sgavrinn lands near it, sniffing at the air and looking at his surroundings.

 

I softly stroke her arm at a medium pace.


"Thanks, anyways."

 

"So how much do you know about the tech behind these blades?" Abigail asks, continuing to examine the blade's features.


Myria can be seen meditating at the base of the tree. Various flowers grow around her, and forest spirits float through the air, humming.

Stephanie's skin feels warm, and soft. She still seems rather distraught, however.


"No problem." I say.

 

I lightly hold her arm.
"It's okay."
I whisper.

 

"Next to nothing. I wasn't given details about my construction."


Sgavrinn lays on the ground, lowering his wing to act as a ramp.
He hums softly with the forest spirits.

 

She keeps murmuring. You can't make out words, but she's clearly distressed. A few tears start running down her face, despite her being unconscious.

"Well, shoot. Looks like we have to delve deeper." Abigail says. A concentrated flame appears in her hand, and she starts cutting the blade in half.


"Mother!" Artemis says, running over to her mother.

"Hello, Artemis. I was starting to get worried about you," Myria says telepathically, remaining as she is, "Thank you for bringing Artemis to me, Sgavrinn."

The forest spirits hum back happily.

 

I wipe the tears off her face, keeping hold of her.

 

She gently holds onto you in her unconsciousness, seeming to calm down a bit.

 

The blade is hard to cut in half, but Iruk stops her once she gets to the handle.
"The wiring is just not in the blade."

"No problem! I'm glad you're both happy."

 

I continue to hold onto her, smiling.

 

"Oh, you could've told me." Abigail says. Her concentrated flame turns light blue, and she starts cutting into the handle.

"I can assure you this won't damage the wires." Abigail says.

Stephanie relaxes, and seems to have calmed down completely.
