"Well, each location is marked with a number. The four outer dials change the number based on their rotation, so an individual dial can hold 360 locations. However, each location is made up of 4 different numbers, and depending on the rotation of the centre dial, it can multiply, both by number and power, subtract, add, or divide the 4 sets of numbers to get a total number. However, the way the total number is obtained changes the location. For example, if you were to get 100 by adding, it would lead to a different location than getting 100 by multiplying. The centre dial is also used to decide who goes and who stays, so the elevator can be used by multiple people going to multiple locations. The way it works is rather confusing, but to put it rather simply, you just need to imagine who goes to which location." The Shadow attempts to explain as simply as possible.

Ihra walks through.

"Well, wouldn't it be hard to control which memories came through?"

"If you were just born, what were you trying to do? Also, Daras, there's a portal open near where the rest of the group is. Think they're back?"

"At least I'm capable of learning your group's etiquette. Thanks for being tolerant."

"Oh... oh my. I'm so sorry! Here, if it means anything, please take some of my wage. Your friend needs it more than I do."

 

"No problem. I like to be like that. Makes everyone feel better."

 

"Hey, is that portal the rest of your group?"

 

"I'm glad you did, come back any time you want!" Shadow Stephanie says happily. The rest of us walk through the portal with Ihra.

After a short moment of blackness, Ihra and the others find themselves walking toward where they left the hot spring; everything getting brighter. It seems almost too bright.

"We're back!" I announce happily.

 

"Sure is!"
I say, happily.

"Hey! What were you up to?"
I ask the group.

 

"Aye, and you better bet that I'll destroy it this time."

 

"I had to visit the king and queen at the shadow palace in the realm of shadows. They let us stay there for a while, so we had a nice relax." I say.

"But...I thought you were th-" I quickly cover Katie's mouth before she can continue, "Esteemed guests of my realms royalty? Yes, I was!" I say hastily.

Katie grins and licks my hand; I pull it away, "Ew, Katie, don't do that!" I say, annoyed.

 

Idala goes back to the crystal dials.
She rotates the dials randomly again, but this time she keeps three of them in similar places while the other one is completely different.
She then rotates the centre dial.

"Hmm, maybe if I try this..."
When I turn them, they seem to be turned in a way which seems relevant but at the same time random.

"Maybe... though I've always had a feeling that, while they were the way they were meant to be, at the same time they weren't. Nobody else could sense it, but I'm a magical construct, so maybe I can sense part of the magic coming from it."

"Probably them. Unless it's someone else, but I'd say it's them."

"Hi!" Ragnyon says, waving.
"We were getting worried." Ruby says, looking a bit intimidating carrying twenty blades around her.

"Ah..."

"Hello... ah... I don't think we've met."
A draconian with a grey robe and ten blades for wings steps back a bit, intimidated by your group.

"Don't worry, he's nice." Ruby smirks.

"Good."

She holds the blade between you.
"Good luck."

"Maybe you could find a way, the- oh? Ihra's back!"

I raise my non-existent eyebrows suspiciously, but then lower them, shrugging it off.

I then turn my attention to the robot.
"Everyone, this is Iruk. He just kinda stumbled across us. By the way, do any of you happen to be any good at mechanics?"

 

"Probably is a way somewhere... likely recorded, ironically, by the pillars themselves. Hehe... anyway, I'll go flying for a while. Bye!"
She flies into the air. Is it just Sgavrinn, or does she seem to almost fade from view when in the air?

"When I appeared, I was looking at my surroundings, which is everyone here. When I ran away, I wanted to look around. But I'm also sensing something. I'm not sure what it was, but... urgh, I don't know. There's something faintly calling to me, but I don't know where it is."

Everything goes black for a moment, and Idala finds herself in a strange room. A large television, or more appropriate, cinema screen is turned on on one side of the wall. Various consoles are neatly arranged nearer the opposite end, where a comfy looking sofa resides. Shadow Stephanie lies on the sofa with a controller, playing a first-person shooter game and talking into a headset.


As you turn the centre dial, everything goes black. You find yourself standing in a greenhouse of sorts, though it's extremely large. Various natural looking plantlife grows within the greenhouse, and a few beings that look like Artemis tend to the vegetation.

I wave back to Ragnyon, smiling.

"Where'd you get the swords from, jack of all blades?" Abigail asks, observing the many blades Ruby holds.


Stephanie walks over to the draconian, offering a handshake, "My name's Stephanie, and that's Katie, Abigail, Aj and Artemis." She says happily, pointing to the each of us as she says our names.

"I'm a pretty good mechanic, if I do say so myself." Abigail says, extending and retracting her claws.

"Hey, Sgavrinn! Do you know where mother is?" Artemis asks, hugging Sgavrinn.

OOC: I sorta got bombarded.

 

"Good, because we need one."
I say to Abigail.

I turn to Stephanie.
"Hey, are you feeling okay?"

 

"Iruk's an ex-killbot sent after Thirteen. Blades are from him."
"Hey! You helped me get rid of that tracker!"

Iruk accepts.
"Nice to meet you."

"Maybe could you take apart one of his blades and try to recreate it?"
"I'm programmed to shut down after losing all of them."

"Sorry, Artemis, I got distracted and was talking to Aura."

 

"Yeah, fine I...I..." Stephanie trails off, turning pale. She stumbles backwards, looking like she could faint at any moment.

"I wonder when I can get a killbot sent after me. How come Thirteen gets all the fun?" I say, half joking.


"Nice to meet you too!" Stephanie says, smiling.*


"I guess. Does it have some kind of technology tied to it then? Reverse-Engineering them shouldn't be too hard." Abigail asks.


"Oh, that's alright. Mother's probably meditating, then." Artemis says, hugging Sgavrinn tighter.


*OOC: Then the stuff above happens, for the sake of clarity.

 

"Because he probably sees me as a minor threat. Lucky me, I have the power of talking reasonably during a fight! Amazing, I know."

"Yeah, we needed a mechanic for Iruk."

"Seriously, Stephanie, are you okay?"

 

"They have some wiring and stuff at the hilt because they insert into slots on my wings. As it stands, we've got thirty but Thirteen was wondering how we could make more."

Sgavrinn hums.
"We could go find her, if you want."
