Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Thanks!" Stephanie says happily. After a moment, she takes off the crown and hands it back to Shadow Stephanie, who de-summons it.

The Shadow returns with a platter, and places it in front of Stephanie. As expected, she takes off the lid to reveal the food Stephanie wanted. Stephanie starts eating.

At the end of the dining hall, Artemis, Abigail and I enter through a pair of doors. Abigail's hair looks braided.

 

"Ah, looks like they made it back without much trouble."
Ihra waves at you.

 

"Well, I would, but I'm seriously risking my sword breaking it without proper training, hence why I'm here." I lunge at the dummy and bring my sword down on it.

 

I wave back, smiling. The three of us walk over to the table.

"So what happened after I left you, Ihra?" Abigail asks, curious, sitting down in a chair next to Katie, "I sort of got lost."

"We found her in the beauty parlour getting her hair braided." Artemis says. Abigail smiles.

 

Clean cut.
"This isn't proper training, but it's improvement. Go try again; you're at least twice as strong with your blade now than you were walking in."

"I... uh... Well. I got hounded and almost killed by guards. Shadow Stephanie saved me. Apparently my nightmare of Nyre took a physical form and killed a guard, framing me."

 

"Wow. I guess Nyre has an obsession with you or something. I'm sorry you have a stalker like that." Abigail says.

"So I guess we go back as soon as Stephanie finishes her food?" I ask.

 

"Sounds good to me."

 

Idala slides into the pool and starts swimming around.

I follow the guard.

"Most of the time, if you look at a pillar, each one containing a different age's memories, it gives you a random memory."

"Not physically."
She doesn't stop glaring at Daras.
---
"Ah, thank you."
Arnold goes to the sixth floor and looks for the librarians desk. Once he finds it, he goes to what he believes to be the translation books for Dacori.

 

"Alrighty then." I say, smiling.

A while later, Stephanie finishes her food. A Shadow comes and takes it away.

"It's been nice having you here. You can come back any time you want." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling at Ihra.

The group gets up and heads out of the dining hall, headed towards the palace entrance.

 

"That is quite the improvement. Well, thanks for helping me train, Kyle. It's been a pleasure meeting you." I then proceed to strap on all my bags, put on my cloak, and go to the library.

 

The pool water is incredibly pleasant and calming. It feels like time loses meaning as Idala swims around.


The guard walks into the elevator and starts turning the crystal dials.

 

"That's neat."

"We have to be careful in these times. You're not a slave, either, though."

The translation dictionaries are all on one floor.
Common tongue to Dacori is in the back.

"Thanks! It was a nice stay, despite a nightmare."
Ihra follows.
"Wait... What about Eras and Idala?"

 

"Oh yeah, I forgot about those two. I wonder where they are..." I say.

"I'll take them back when I see them. You should get going, Ihra. I don't want the others getting too nervous about you, or the realm giving you anything nasty." Shadow Stephanie says, walking up to a large pair of doors. As she pushes them open, a large portal is revealed; it changes through locations before locking on to what looks like the hot spring.

She continues to swim around, obviously not caring about anything else.

I watch the crystal dials curiously.

"Yes... I wonder why Eras created it with random memories though."

She sighs.
"There are times when you wish you aren't who you are... then again, I've only just been born. That's to be expected."

Arnold goes to the common tongue to Dacori books and reads one.

 

After a while, the whole room gets brighter. It sounds like someone's coming; probably not a good idea to get caught.


The guard turns the centre dial, and suddenly, you find yourself outside of the dining hall. A guard opens the door for you, yet it seems the other guard isn't with you anymore.

 

Idala, with surprising speed, leaps out of the pool and dashes into the changing rooms, getting changed as fast as possible.

"I'll have to get used to these things...", I mutter. I walk into the dining room.

 

There are footsteps just outside the changing room, and it sounds like someone is coming closer.


"Ah, Mister Eras. What would you like to eat for breakfast?" A Shadow asks, walking up to you.

 

"It's fine. There's nothing wrong with asking a question, just don't ask it immediately afterwards if the thing clearly doesn't want to answer."

 

"Well, they were stabbed, but that's all I'm gonna say." I say.
