An Open Question To The Mods About Collector's Items

If both sides are educated on the price of dyed armors, and both want to trade it, how is it scamming? You're just going to start a black market for it. If it is because 'they serve no use', why is trading items such as salted's poop or grian's ocean map allowed?

officially it's still scamming and should be stopped.
unofficially there is no practical way to find out you did that trade unless one of the traders records it.

The whole selvut thing and how stuff is priced

 

its scamming since it now drops with the exact same stats but undyed, BUT there are in fact glitches where you can dye things a different color. so since you can dye it the exact same color as old nether/adventure and there is literally no way to tell them apart from each other (since they have the exact same stats and color id).

 

Earlier someone made a post selling nether armor for lots of cash and Selvut came in and it turned into an argument.

But people arent buying it for gameplay advantage, they buy them for the uniqueness. A rarity thats not common anymore. Even when armor skins come back, there will be ways to prove that its still unique. (Unless they just run some kind of command that wipes all stats off nether armor, or delete them entirely)

 

The problem of you guys selling dyed armor for more than their actual value is that it keeps it rare status, even tho it has no advantages over the other items. That's also why trading old emeralds for more than their actual value is not allowed, they are just emeralds without the lore and green name.
You can't compare it to items like the ocean map or Salted's poop, as they are a one of a kind item, nothing you can find normally, their value is higher than other items due to their rarity, other than the armors. You could also ask why mythic items sell for more than legendaries.

In short, dyed armor has to benefits compared to the undyed sets, so it should not be worth more.

 

How about when armor dye bug/armor skins get fixed we just delete all the nether armor in the game so that we don't have 3 kinds of nether armor: Pre-Gavel, non-dyed, and the upcoming re-dyed.

 

Instead why can't the new armour be dyed a different shade of red? They did this with ghostly armour and you don't see anyone flaming about that.

The advantage is that it is rare, which givesnit bragging rights. Does Salted's Poop or Seeker's Aid give any advantage to make it worth a lot? No.

Hmm, true. By then again, change the dye colour, from what I'm aware they use red powder.

 

If people want to buy them for how much they want, let them, hell, its their decision so why annoy them?

 

Just educate the community on what's what. If there's a glitch that compromises the value of their armor, let them know about it then let them run with it imo. Prices will fall, it won't be scamming if both parties involved know the risks.

 

My point was that it is not rare, since it's the same item as the nether armor.

Also the color of leather armor is set in their code, undyed drops are a bug.
