Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"He was dreaming about puppy races. I know because I tried reaching out to him whilst getting death threats from various guards. And he wouldn't wake up."

Q drifts over, stretching, and floating through the air as if some giant had pinched him by the back of the neck and was now lifting and carrying him around. His bright orange hair is sticking out at odd angles.
"Woah, cool robot," he says. He's too sleepy-eyed for one to tell who he's actually talking to.

 

"Puppy races? Seems a bit random and joyous for Aj. Though he has shown affection for Lupus and Lupina's pups." Shadow Stephanie says, sitting on the relatively massive bed.

A while later, I come out of the bathroom wearing my dark clothing and cloak. Shadow Katana rests on my back, and the shurikens Ruby made for me rest just on the inside of the cloak.

"Are we getting breakfast now...or what?" I ask, still rather sleepy.

"Aj, were you dreaming about puppies racing?" Shadow Stephanie asks, grinning slightly.

"Wh-What? How did you know that? I MEAN- No, no I wasn't." I say hastily.

"If you want to go see the pups while Ihra and I wake up your girlfriend and Katie, you can." Shadow Stephanie says.

"No...I'll go wake up Artemis..." I say sleepily.

 

"Thanks, it helps a lot!" I make my way to the laundry room and start washing and folding whatever needs cleaning.

 

"Nope. I didn't. Now it's the challenge to find you a good mechanic."
I turn to Ragnyon (Or whoever it was that was calling him a 'killbot').
"Still a killbot?"

"Yeah. He is."
I say affirmatively, and I turn to the killbot.
I tap my jaw,
Then put my finger to my mouth,
And hope he gets the message.

 

I remain silent for a while, waiting for the guard.

 

"No thank you, I'm fine."

"I will if it would be required."

A while later, the singing stops and I wake up.

OOC: Would Eras still be wearing his normal clothes? I mean, he was pretty much carried to his bedroom after he fell asleep.

"The area outside it is... I had a look around that once or twice. There were these dark dragons called Drakonshades. They aren't very nice. Some were worse than others, but I didn't stay around for long to find out anything about them. The Void Hall and the Pillars are nice though. The history of the Darklands can be found by looking at the pillars, though nobody, not even Eras, knows how to use them properly."

This time Anna wakes up and sleepily looks around.
Then she notices Daras and the fact that she has two bracelets around her wrists.
She glares at Daras

"Where would I find books which translate from or Dacori to the common tongue?"

 

"Very well. Feel free to explore the palace until your friends wake up." The Shadow says, leaving with your plate.


OOC: Eras was just dropped in bed as he was, so yes, normal clothes.

The guard looks in after hearing the singing stop, "Ah, you're awake Mister Eras. Are you feeling alright?" She asks, noticing you awake.

 

"Thank you."
She goes back to the lift and looks at it.

"Other than a bad headache, I'm fine, thank you. I really shouldn't have had that pure alcohol..."
The guard notices that the ghost isn't there anymore.

 

The elevator(/lift) contains five crystal dials, all pointing upward. A crystal dial remains in the centre, and the four other dials remain in the four cardinal directions away from the centre dial. It seems these need to be turned to transport their users.

There appears to be what looks like a button and a handle on the right wall.


"Pure alcohol is poison, Mister Eras. I'm glad you're alright," The guard says, "I also noticed you had a spectral friend with you. They seemed to know a lot about you."

 

"Time to have a look around while I'm waiting."
She turns the dials randomly, including the centre dial.

"Spectral friend? I haven't seen anything spectral in a while. Tell me, what were they like?"

 

Everything goes black for a moment, before Idala finds herself in a room containing a large pool. The floor is tiled, and there are a pair of what appears to be changing room entrances on the opposite end of the room. Unlike other areas of the palace, the room is much darker than usual, and no other Shadows are present. It seems the pool isn't open right now, though there aren't any locked doors leading into the changing rooms...surely a quick swim couldn't hurt?


"They knew a lot about you and your current state, and they said they hadn't made themselves present on the common layer of reality before," The guard explains, "They seemed awfully nice, not hostile at all."

 

Idala goes into the changing rooms.

"I'm not sure who they are still... I'd have to see them myself."

 

There are lockers lining the walls, and benches with hooks in the middle of the room. At the end of the room, there are pairs of bikinis and swim suits hung up; presumably for those who don't own them. A soft twilight glow comes from a light at the top of the room, and what looks to be showers are to the left, and a mirror occupies the back wall next to the entrance.


"That's a shame, especially since they're not here anymore," The guard says, "So, would you like to head to the dining hall for breakfast?"

 

Idala gets changed into her swimsuit from earlier (the one which she used at the hot spring).
She then goes back to the pool and touches the water to make sure it isn't too cold.

"Yes please."

 

The water seems to be lukewarm, not at all cold. It feels quite pleasant, like the water has been completely untouched.


"Follow me, Mister Eras." The guard says, heading out of your room. She starts walking down the hallway to an elevator.

 

"Uh... Who are you?"

"Let's go wake up Katie, then."

One of the workers looks at you awkwardly.
"Uh... Sir? Are you looking for a job?"

(Ruby)
"No, he looks changed enough. Look what sentience gets you."
"I hope you're not just going to call me a... you know."

He returns after a minute or so.
"Still nothing. You feeling rested for round two?"

"Use them properly? Is it possible to look at them improperly?"

"Hi Anna. Are you hurt?"
-----
"Sixth floor, directly right of the librarian's desk."

 

Shadow Stephanie and I head out the doors to the bedroom, returning to a more normal size as we do so.

We head into an elevator at the end of a fairly well guarded, though rather empty, hallway. I start turning the dials, and Shadow Stephanie smiles at Ihra.

 

"Told you he wasn't helpful back there." Ihra mouths at Shadow Stephanie.

 

"Not much you can do when you're asleep." Shadow Stephanie mouths back.

Everything goes black for a moment, and the trio finds themselves in a familiar hallway.

I head for one of the doors being guarded, "Is this Artemis' room?" I ask.

The guard nods, and I knock on the door.

The only other logical room for Katie to be in would be the one next to Artemis', which Shadow Stephanie walks toward.
