Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The wolf bites at the necks of the offending wolves, growling and snarling.


The whole area is dark and incredibly soft, oddly. A pair of red eyes glows in the darkness, however.

"He is too strong for you," A feminine voice echoes in Ihra's mind, "I have taken you to safety."

 

He increases his speed, hurling both his blades to either side of you.

The summon wolves to the same.
"Should've sent help."

"Wh... where am I? Who are you? Let me back there! I'm not worthy if I can't handle him again!"

 

I drop down a bit, still flying horizontally.
I take out my crossbow, and a Canon Ball bolt.
I quickly load the bolt into the crossbow.

 

The wolf grows in size, its claws growing and becoming sharper. It affixes its mouth around one of the summoned wolf's necks, cutting through the neck with its teeth; its bite seems to be unable to be dislodged.


"You are safe here. I am the wolf who saved you, and I don't want to send you back to your doom. I have sworn to my master to protect you." The voice says.

 

He dives down and swats your feet, throwing your flight path off drastically.

It howls in pain, but another forms nearby and bites at the neck of the bigger wolf.

"I'm not one for dogfights. WHERE IS THE GIRL?!"
A light bolt cuts into the guard's shoulder.

 

"Is that... really how fast you... normally use up blades?"
I comment, steadying my the crossbow.
I wait for him to advance closer again, as I make a sharp turn upwards.

 

The wolf tries clawing at the eyes of the attacking wolf, before biting the head of the first wolf clean off, biting into the attacking wolf.

"Heh...you'll never find her now." The guard says, ringing the blue bell. It too rings true throughout the palace. The presence of a large being approaching can be felt.

 

He throws one above you and one at you.
"No."

More summon wolves come, biting every part of the normal wolf they can.
"Funny how you hate her one moment and hide her the next."

"Please... Let me out... Let me back..."
The crystal of her staff glows; she's trying to see where she is.

 

I then drop down, trying to avoid the blades.
I fire the bolt, aimed at the left side of his chest. (His left)
I then move right, and start flying right. (My right)

 

He dives to dodge it, then keeps pursuing you.
"I've never had someone honestly tell me why the Hive Master wanted them dead before, you know."
"Hurry up. 10"
"I'm just making this harder on mysef, aren't I? Heh..."

 

The wolf's body becomes spiked, the spikes growing outwards and piercing the heads of his attackers.

A large, hollow eyed version of myself appears in front of the distortion. I stand in my larger form, Shadow Katana held ready. In one slice, the fake wolves are cut in half and killed. I bring a gigantic Shadow Katana down on the distortion.


The floor seems to be white, and soft; the roof appears to be black, also soft.

"Very well, child." The wolf says. She can be seen watching over Ihra in the darkness. She walks up to Ihra and picks her up using her mouth, heading back to the dining hall.

 

"Didn't seem like you were going to stop, anyways. What's the harm by then?"
I take out and load a bolt with a white strip.

 

He takes the blow.
"Only she can end me..."

...the distortion and summoned wolves are gone. Ihra's barrier preserved the vast majority of the dining hall.

...
"Aaaah... When did he copy that...?"

"What do you mean?"
He hurls a blade at your crossbow, increasing the speed of his pursuit.

I disappear. The wolf shakes his bloody coat dry, and the wolf carrying Ihra puts her down and walks over to the other wolf; licking at his bloody patches.

The guards, if they weren't already annoyed, are now incredibly annoyed with Ihra. Most of them glare at her.

 

Ihra tries to run for the door.

Telepathically, she screams at you.
"AJ PLEASE BE UP. PLEASE. WAKE UP. HELP."

 

"And there goes professor rainbow sprinkles, headed toward the finish line, BUT WHAT'S THIS!? doctor cinnamon has overtaken professor rainbow sprinkles! This is surely a puppy race for the ages!" I respond. Ihra gets a vision of some adorable puppies running along a racetrack towards a finish line. Despite the circumstances, it is quite amazing doctor cinnamon was able to overtake professor rainbow sprinkles.

The guard stands at the door, yet refuses to open it. He simply glares at Ihra.

"And where do you think you're 'eaded off to eh?" A guard shouts at Ihra, clearly mad.

 

"AJ. WAKE UP. WAKE UP. NYRE."

"Eeeugh... Uh... Not here...?"

 

"Ihra? You're meant to be at the snack bar! These spectators of the puppy races need food and drink you know! Shadow Stephanie's working her butt off there!" I respond.

"Ahahaha, you bloody wish. You think you can cause all that trouble and just slink away eh?" The guard asks, drawing closer to Ihra.

 

Somehow, I take him drawing his weapons as his first move. "My turn." I say, grinning. I start running around him in a circle, shooting my crossbow at him.

 

"NYRE JUST TORE UP THE DINING HALL. DAMNIT, WAKE UP!!"

"Well... No. But, come on. I prove it's not me, and you blame me anyways?!
Wait.
Please, no.
Please don't be the genocidal demons I've been told you are."

He's agile enough to dodge.
He fires his broadsword in front of you and fires a volley of five arrows behind it.
