Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

His blue coloring sticks out in the desert. There's some brush nearby that might be able to hide him, but he doesn't blend in well anywhere.

He follows, faster than you.
"I don't even know why they want you dead."
He throws one of his blades at you, nicking your foot.

"It's been a while. Why?"

 

"No reason. By the way, why IS the library really popular?"

 

OOC: We've been out of the desert for a while. If we're near Ronam, then we're in plains.
I walk back to him, saying, "I found a brush you can hide in. It won't be very comfortable, but it's better than being attacked by townsfolk or staying out here where you can be seen."

 

"It's an easy way to kill a ton of time without the burden of guilt that comes with wiping out worlds. Plus, since we established it, sometimes we get donations from nations we've encountered that are in awe of Mistress. Sometimes, we've even gotten the respect of other immortals."

OOC: I know, that was to make a point.
His coloring is about sky blue. He sticks out.

He conceals himself under the brush as much as he can, and you can only see him at certain angles.

 

"Ah, I see. I like reading as much as the next guy, but don't you think that spending 26 hours and above reading straight is a little extreme? Like, they could be getting stronger in that time, or doing some missions or whatever."

 

"Who the Hell is this 'they'?"
I say, taking the blade out of my foot, and keeping it.
I start making sharp, random turns.

 

"Resources are limited. Books don't get destroyed by turning a page. Plus, if you find anything on battle tactics, you're killing two birds with one stone."

"You know already."
They spray water at you in most directions that aren't in front of them.

 

I put up my makeshift shield to block the water from coming into my eyes.
"Correct. I do know a 'they'. But if you're actually going to tell me, it'd be great to be less vague."
I keep making sharp turns, mostly away from the water anyways.

 

A sword cuts your shield's effective blocking area by about a third.
"The Hive Master. Do you even have any uncertainty in your mind?"

 

I shrug, as if to say 'Id rather kill two stones with one bird'. I sigh, and stand up, grabbing my sword. I then proceed to take a swing at the dummy.

 

"Assuming makes an ass out of you and me, pal. Just a little thing I like to stick by."
I charge the robot, shield ready to block water, and sword ready to deflect or strike.

 

He starts flying straight at you, blade held out front.
"28 until shutdown" a default voice says.

You hit the scale again in your lack of paying attention.
"Err... How about you just move away from that?"

 

I continue to charge at him, until I get just out of reach of him.
I then stop using my rocket feet, and drop down, the momentum bringing me to his feet.
I then grab at his foot with my left hand, letting the makeshift shield roll down my arm.

 

Two of his wingblades eject, one of them driving itself into the hand that was holding his foot.
"26"
"Half of me wants to leave you be; I don't know why they want you dead. The other half wants to survive.

So if you'd..."
He swings wide at your neck, missing.
"...just make this easy on me..."

"...that'd be great."

 

"I know the feeling, bud."
The muscles in the hand tense up, but don't let go.
"But you're not getting a reward without a good day's work."
I turn back on my rocket feet as hard as I can, pointing my feet straight down.
Which means I'm pushing up, against his leg, which should set him off balance or dislocate a bone there.

 

He tumbles almost to the ground, but quickly swoops back up towards you.
"24"
"The Hive Master told me I'd hear that much."
He sprays water above you, preventing you from looking up easily.

 

"Alright." I move away from the scale, and take a swing at another dummy.

 

I quickly put the shield over me, and fly up as fast as possible, to get rid of most of the water.
I still keep an eye on the robot.
"So, are you typically used, or were you made special for this occasion?"

 

Clean cut.
"Try a cut, then a stab, then another cut."

This gives him time to reposition.
"We start with ten blades. We get two back a kill; this is already sloppy."

 

"Alright." I slash at the dummy, then stab it, then slash at it again.
