Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The guard gives up searching, instead looking for the crystal above Ihra's bed. He cuts off the vines surrounding it and takes it. The guard increases the strength of the light, causing the crystal to burn through his hand.

The guard hastily picks up the crystal and puts it back above Ihra before his other hand burns through.

 

The vines slow their growth, then stop.
They form a sphere around the crystal, then the vines in the hall and out the window begin to wither.

 

The guard sighs in relief, before heading back out into the hallway. He takes out a notebook and writes 'Necklace' before tearing out the page and tying it to his sword.

 

A slight breeze passes by, and the note is gone.

 

The guard looks for where the note went, but chooses to stay put outside Ihra's door.

He takes out his notebook again and writes 'Note, Necklace' before tearing the page and poking it into his sword's sheath, so only the top of the note is visible.

 

Another breeze, and the note can be seen on the floor, albeit with a different message;
"Where's your queen?"

 

The guard seems confused, but writes, "Who's asking?" and holds the note in his hand.

 

The writing is erased.
"You've yet to search."

 

"I have a sworn duty to protect Ihra, under orders of the king." The guard writes.

 

"I don't care. I am greater than your king."

 

"I doubt that; who are you?" The guard writes.

The guard instinctively reaches for his sword.

 

"Tell him he should've sent help."
A powerful gust of wind hurls the guard down the hall.

 

I take another swing at it, this time attempting to lessen the windup.

 

You don't quite cut through, but your agility is becoming somewhat comparable to your ice blade.
"You learn fast."

 

"Have to. Never know what kind of situation I'll end up at." I take another swing at it, again attempting to lessen the windup.

 

You make an even quicker strike, but barely cut halfway through the dummy.

 

I take another swing, but this time from above.
OOC: Bringing the sword down on the dummy

 

Gravity helps enough to make a clean cut.
"It's still pretty obvious you're green, though."

 

"What do you mean with 'green'?" I ask, wiping sweat off my face.

 

"Your technique, though good for day one, is miserable."
