Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She makes it, but falls asleep the moment she gets in.

 

"I guess we should take her to the bedrooms first, then." I say, picking up Ihra.

I turn the dials again, before turning the centre dial. Everything goes black, and Artemis, Ihra and I appear in a hallway. I take Ihra into one of the first rooms in the hallway, leading into a luxurious bedroom. I carefully lay Ihra in the bed, covering her over, before affixing a crystal above her. It shines a bright light, but not so bright as to disturb Ihra's sleep. I carefully leave the bedroom, quietly closing the door behind me.

I whistle a guard over, "Please protect Ihra while she sleeps. Nobody is to enter here but I, the queen, or yourself to check on her." I say.

"Understood, your highness." The guard says, standing in front of Ihra's door.

Artemis and I head back to the elevator, teleporting back to the dining hall.

Artemis and I enter the dining hall. I seem to be dressed in rather royal looking clothing, a crown resting atop my head.

"Oh, hey you two." Katie says happily.

"Uggh...hey guys." Abigail says, seeming to have sobered up.

"Ihra's asleep in one of the luxury bedrooms; I suggest you two follow suit and go to bed too." I say.

"Alright, I'm feeling pretty tired myself." Katie says, getting up.

"Yeah...I need sleep..." Abigail says, making an attempt to get up from the table.

I turn to you and Idala, "Would you two like to stay here, or would you like to sleep too?" I ask.

 

"Well, I was thinking...we could steal from them." I say. "If we could get in and out before guards came, we would avoid a fight. If we stopped at Ronam, I could enter the city. They can't tell I'm a tribal until they closely examine my face. Big cities like that get lots of trouble."

 

"It depends on how I aim. I say it has pretty good accuracy, though that's usually only when I'm seriously aiming. Usually, I aim at a general direction, and unless my target moves, I usually hit home. I knocked a grape off someone's head once." I explain, continuing to wave the sword around.

 

"But I like rainbows!"
He then falls asleep.
"Okay...?"

[After Ihra comes in]
"I hope Stephanie's going to be okay..."

"I was wondering if you would like to fly for a while. I haven't been able to since... it was a while anyway."

"Yes, I was hoping to."
---
"Of course, a scribe write it. I meant, why is there a sigil which tells you if someone is reading this book?"

I'm already asleep.
"Yes please... I haven't slept for a while."

 

"Follow me, then. I have some luxurious bedrooms I'm sure you'll enjoy." I say, before heading over to you and picking you up.

"Stephanie's unconscious right now, and she's been healed. Ihra helped a lot, so it's no wonder she fell asleep." Artemis says.

Katie runs over to Artemis as I carry you back, and Abigail slowly gets up and heads in the same direction. We leave the dining hall, walking towards what looks like a strange elevator.

 

"That's good news."
When we get to the lift, she says, "I've not seen anything like this before..."

 

"It's used to get around the palace easily. Certainly saves time and your legs from all the walking." I say, growing an extra pair of arms to turn the crystal dials in the elevator.

After turning the dials to specific orientations, I turn the centre dial. Everything goes pitch black for a moment, and the group finds themselves in a hallway lined with doors, evenly spaced apart. A guard stands by the nearest guard, eyeing the group yet staying stationary.

I take you into the nearest unguarded bedroom, laying you in the luxurious four poster bed. I cover you over before leaving, quietly closing the door behind me.

"Choose whichever bedroom you like; they're all the same," I say, "I hope you have a restful night. There's night clothing in each bedroom if you need it."

Artemis, Katie and Abigail choose the three closest rooms next to each other, closing the doors behind them. I whistle, and five guards appear.

"Guard Eras, Artemis, Abigail, Katie and Idala's bedrooms. Nobody is to enter but the queen or I." I say.

"It shall be done, your highness." A guard says. Three of the guards stand by Artemis, Abigail and Katie's doors; one stands by Eras' door and the last waits for Idala to choose a room.

I head back to the elevator, turning the dials again. I smile back at Idala.

 

"Thank you.", she says before going to the nearest bedroom which isn't occupied.

 

The guard stands outside Idala's bedroom as she enters, keeping an eye out for any signs of danger. I teleport away from the elevator shaft, the crystal dials returning to point upward.

The room looks quite large and luxurious. In the centre, a large four poster bed with silken bedsheets and a fluffy pillow resides, a bedside table next to it; night clothing most likely inside. To the left, a fireplace warms the room, the warm coals giving a soft glow. To the right, a door labelled 'Bathroom'. A pair of windows accompany each side of the bed, their curtains closed.

The bed seems quite inviting.

 

Idala goes to the windows and opens the curtains slightly to see what is outside.

 

A dark crescent moon lights the silhouette of a large city just beyond the tall walls of the palace. Only half of the city is visible, the other half of the view leading into sprawling forests and plains, and in the distance, mountains. A few figures can be seen walking about in the city, some entering their homes, others packing up their shops and stalls along the cobblestone roads. In the wilderness, red-eyed animals dart about in the night. Some capturing prey, others running from their possible predators. One of the running animals seems to turn into a large, monstrous beast, grabbing its predator and eating it whole, before turning back to its normal form, rather eerily.

A few guards roam the palace walls, their red eyes glowing in the darkness. Some carry crossbows, while others swords. A few of the guards have red-eyed wolf-like animals following them around, sniffing around occasionally. It seems the palace is well protected.

There seems to be a latch on the window, like it can be opened.

 

Idala smiles at the city and places beyond it with the creatures. She then closes the curtains, takes the night clothes out of the bed table and takes them into the bathroom and has a look around it.

 

The bathroom is rather spacious, and has a tiled floor, toilet, sink with soap, mirror and (obviously) bath and shower. Various toiletries, such as bubble bath, shampoo and conditioner rest on the edge of the bath, and a pair of towels lies on a heater next to it. A hair dryer with a red crystal affixed at the end of the handle is held on the wall, and a toothbrush and toothpaste lie between the taps (faucets).

The night clothing consists of a dark blue, cotton, long-sleeved shirt, a pair of dark blue, cotton leggings and a pair of black, fluffy socks. Additionally, the night clothing is patterned with yellow stars and smiling crescent moons, and is incredibly soft. Even holding it, Idala feels sleepier by the second.

 

Idala takes off her clothes and places the night clothes nearby. She then takes a shower, dresses in the night clothes and then goes back into the bedroom, where she quickly falls asleep in the bed.

 

There's nothing but silence. The warmth of the coals in the fire place is quite pleasant, and the bed is extremely soft. The hours fly by like seconds as the night drives onward with everyone asleep.

 

"Clever... I'll have to stay out. There's nothing like me here. I'll wait in some brush or something."

"Nice. Have you ever tried hitting targets moving towards and away from you? It's tougher with a bow, but it's not bad practice."

You get pretty used to the weight. It still takes two hands, but you're not stumbling around with it anymore.

"As much as I'd like to, Ragnyon can't get around without me. I think I should stay close to her for now."

"I don't know, okay?! I read it first, then it seemed to bind to me. Now even if I read it, it lets me know someone read it. Damn thing isn't flammable, either..."

Vines slowly overgrow Ihra's bed. (Again)

They start to grow under the door an into the hall.

Maybe honey wasn't the best gift.

 

"Yes. My accuracy is extremely poor when that happens though. In my sparring match with someone, he dodged almost all my crossbow bolts by flying around really fast. He even managed to snatch it."

I take several paces back, and charge at the dummy, jumping up and brining down the sword on it.

 

This time, you make a clean cut.
"Good, good! Now, try doing the same with your blade."

 

"Alright." I place the blade on the ground and grab my own. I take several steps back and charge, jumping up and bringing my blade down on the dummy.
OOC: Let's just assume that unless it's specified, Helianus is always attacking when it phases in.
