Just some random art I drew.
Most of them features Chime, my oc from my WIP book.

This pikachu one actually wasn't made by me, but was made by my friend when she wanted to try out the software.



This one is unfinished and stuff. Was supposed to look like me. Looks way to handsome and cute to be me.

I am aware I am terrible at coloring and shading.
Some of this stuff was made a long time ago. so the qualities of the artwork may vary.


Feel free to comment and criticize me. Advice is always appreciated!

I think it was a joke, considering how he gave it a 10/10. I like it as well. Could you tell us more about what your WIP book "The Labyrinth" is about?

 

Ehehehehhehe....
I am really embarressed- especially since it was spawned after playing MMOS and stuff.

Basically its about a boy named Chime, who lives in a world with magic and swords.
But unlike most fantasy worlds, this one gives the inhabitants an ability called 'Dynami'(Greek for 'strength', if you were wondering).
With this ability, they can absorb 'auras' from things that they have killed.

Auras are energy that is left behind after almost any living organism dies.
When a person absorbs enough auras, they 'level up' and their physical and magical strength increases.

Chime's current stats are.

These stats are recorded in a person's 'souls' and they can look at it at any time. After meeting with a pretty female adventurer who is a level 65, Chime tries to become stronger to catch up to her, and then he would try and ask her out.

Hmm, interesting. I really like the concept of that story.

Also, your art is very nice! It utilizes color schemes very nicely! Although maybe more work on shading for the first one

I am trying to improve my shading and overall drawing.
Speaking of which, I was trying a out new art and shading style for my comic.

Thank you! What do you think of the new shading style? Do the colored lines look good?

 

The shading on the first one is very nice and subtle. The second one is more defined, but it still looks natural.
One thing is maybe have the noses a bit more defined? I get that the style has the nose like that, but more defined noses help make the face look more rounded and less flat.

SYNOPSIS

The Labyrinth.

A gigantic underground maze that stretches around the world and has so many floors, it is said you could wander down into the land of the dead if you managed to survive the trip. But even if this ever-changing maze was filled with bloodthirsty monsters, poisonous plants, and deadly traps, many different people from around the world keep on charging into its depths every day.

Why?

Well, entering and collecting things in the Labyrinth was their job.

I am going to become an adventurer, one of the many weapon wielding warriors that enter the Labyrinth in hoping of collecting a decent amount of money to get by a particular day. In this dangerous, heart-racing, space-warping maze, I will chase after my future-

One with fame… Fortune….
...And pretty girls...
My name is Chime Ensis.
And this is my adventure.

PROLOGUE

The soul.

The immortal essence of a being that defines the person under the skin. Since ancient times, ever since the world was blessed by the gods, we have been given the ability to read our own souls.

That was what my soul read.
Horrible statistics even from the view of someone who wasn’t an adventurer.

Levels, Statistics, and Experience. The fundamental elements of Dynami- an element of nature that allows a person to gain strength ridiculously fast.
Whenever a living thing dies, it leaves behind an aura. When absorbed by the killer, they gain experience depending on the strength of the deceased being. At a certain point, they ‘level up’ greatly enhancing a person’s statistics.

I was a level one with terrible statistics.
I was one of those people who didn’t bother to train, and was naive to think things would go my way.
Only a fool would attempt to delve into the Labyrinth’s depths which such pitiful strength. Which is exactly what I did.

The screams of the damsel in distress.
The roars of the horrendous monster.
In a bolt of lightning and a blast of strong wind, I would appear and swiftly dispel the evil beast with my golden longsword.
Looking up at me with tears in her eyes, the pretty young girl’s love towards me would awaken…
You may not have realized this, but this story was a work of fiction.
They were the thoughts of an overly-optimistic child who had completely underestimated life.

“AAHHH!”
The scream of a helpless human adolescent rang throughout the second floor of the mysterious dungeon known only as the Labyrinth.
But it didn’t belong to a youthful damsel in distress no- the scream came from a thirteen year old boy- me.
Fwooosh

It didn’t need to run, it glided. And the sound it made signified it was shortening its distance between us at an alarming speed.

“No, no, no....” I gasped as I pushed myself to continue running.

I was out of magic energy. My entire body was in agony. I was drowning in a pool of my own sweat and my limbs felt like they were made out of solid lead. I turned a corner sharply, my black sneakers barely keeping me from falling down.
As I looked up from the ground, trying to ignore the cramps in my legs, I saw the words of the gods telling me to die.

A dead end.

“No… No… No!”

I slowed down, tripped and then fell onto the ground.
The monster drew closer to me. I turned around and quickly scooted backwards until my back hit the cold wall. It looked like a gray flame roughly in the shape of a tall man, with chilling red eyes and huge claw-like fingers.

It was something I shouldn’t have encountered.
A monster so rare and so strong, I heard some people die just from the shock of finding it.
Death Shadow.

“RAAAAA!!!!!” It screeched.

This what I get for chasing after such a shallow delusion.

I had a dream.
Not a noble dream like world peace or the end of world hunger.
My dream was to become a hero. A popular hero surrounded in fame and fortune. I wanted to meet people, to at least have a nice girlfriend...
But that would never happen.

I will die alone, sitting on the ground, cowering in fear from low level monsters. The adventurers that would find my corpse would laugh at it, immediately noticing how weak and foolish I was for venturing in the Labyrinth- a cruel and heartless place where people much stronger than me find death every day.

The monster flew closer- satisfied that it had finally captured its prey. I shook intensely, my teeth chattering and tears flowing out of my eyes.

I… Don’t want to-

SSHHINGG!!!

I froze.
There was a burst of wind and the sound of metal sliding against leather echoed down the stone halls. A single silver line materialized directly in the Shadow’s chest. The line sharply curved to the left, then the right, before finally slamming to the ground.

BOOM

The mist-like body of the Death Shadow exploded, spraying an oily black liquid everywhere- including my face. I froze and held my breath. Everything had suddenly become quiet.

Ssshhh

The monster blood began disintegrating into black dust, which slowly retreated into the walls. The only part of the monster that didn’t disintegrate was a red orb of mist that floated above the ground- it’s aura.
I slowly looked away from the monster- to catch a glimpse my savior.
Long golden-blonde hair and crystal-blue eyes. Slender limbs and pale skin. A flawless face that anyone could fall for.

Badump Badump Badump

My heart bounced around inside of my chest, and I felt like it could shatter into a million pieces at any moment.
In front of me was a true hero. The person who has been given the title of ‘Goddess Knight’ by the grand and powerful deities themselves. A person any commoner would know and aspire to try and be.

Celia Fane.

In this single instant, my foolish fantasies had become real. Dreams can come true. Millions of thoughts were flying through my mind, most of which I couldn’t comprehend.

But there was one thing that I knew for certain.
Celia Fane had captured my heart.

Oooh, interesting start. The prologue is a great attention grabber! I think some parts in the very beginning were a bit too literal, especially when describing the Dynami, but it's a minor detail.
Would love to read more

 

thanks! I have no idea how to shorten it though. Maybe I should change it so it is described in Ch1

 

Yeah, the word Dynami doesn't particularly matter in the prologue and might flow more smoothly in a regular chapter
