Lore/Story Theory: Could There Be More Than One Corrupter Of Worlds?

This may just be a simple theory, but could there be perhaps another or even more CoWs?

Here is my supporting evidence
-when the miners broke into the nether and awakened the corruption monsters, CoW may have been one of the first to enter the realm of Wynn
-but ages before that, a spawn of Light broke out from the realm of Light into the Gavel and like CoW, created a form of destruction known as the Decay
-could that other creature be called the Decayer of Worlds/DoW

I doubt there is another CoW, because (supposedly) in the lore, a meteor crashes in the dark forest, causing the 2 forests (Dark forest/Kander forest) which started the decay. What makes it worse is we the Cultists summon a demon... GG
