"You mean you're, like, a lord or something? And you don't want to be?"

 

"Would you see any flower as a certain expression? For example, Hryth's Speech Flower?"

"I went into hiding for 10,000 years after a few large battles which resulted in my wife and daughter and I being the only survivors. I evacuated them using teleportation then went back to defend my people. I used some magic to make a sort of clone, called a shift-clone, which fought in the battle for me while I hid in a hidden basement on the island. Once everyone left, I just used the hut."

"Oh, okay. Have any of them done something in the past?"

 

I reluctantly climb out the hatch. "Um...do you know where they keep the weapons? I'll need them. Also, I hope you're willing to kill. If we come across any enemy tribals, I plan to kill them."

 

"Heh, lord is putting it lightly," I respond, "Really, apart from the desicions, life is just too easy here. You can get what you want, whenever you want. Sure, being pampered is nice, but after a while your life has no meaning. Nothing to overcome, nothing to work for, just exist and pass judgement on stuff while living easy."

 

"Thank you."

I say to Idala, "So what is bubblegum?"
"Gum which you can make into bubbles. Duh."

 

"I didn't know what to make of it, but I was told to eat it so I did."

"Yikes. Rough past, it seems..."

"We've lost a few librarians."

"No idea. I'm not willing to kill, I'm not that kind of mage."

"So you don't like it because you don't spill blood?"

 

Katie chuckles lightly.

A short while later, a group of Shadows head toward the table, each carrying platters.

They each lay down a platter in front of everyone. Taking their lids off, revealing the food everyone requested.

"Ooh, this looks lovely!" Artemis says, looking at the large plate of multiple fruits in front of her.

The Shadows leave, except for two; one male and one female.

The Shadow next to Abigail picks up a slice of her pizza, and Abigail carefully eats it.

The Shadow next to you takes a spoonful of your soup, holding it in front of you.

"I hope we got the soup as you wished." She says, smiling.

I sigh, "Essentially, yes. As a wise man once said: "In order to live life, you need problems. If you get everything when you want it, what's the point of living?"" I respond.

 

"Um... Pardon me asking, but does that mean you've tried to kill the king and queen before?"

 

"I'm not one for murder suicides," I respond flatly, "Bssides, Shadows don't kill each other."

 

"Sorry."

After finishing the honey, Ihra starts looking around the dining hall.

 

"Makes sense. So you can't tell the expressions of other flowers, or did you just not have enough time to tell?"

"Yes, you could say that. I definitely brought it upon myself every time I made my mistakes..."

"Err... how did they die?"

Idala starts scooping the ice cream at a steady pace; not as quick as Ihra but not very slow either.
I say, "Umm... what do I do now?"
She says, "Yourrrrllll ourppp-", and realises her mistake.
Idala then, surprisingly, speaks in the Dark Script fluently at the same time as eating.
I open my mouth.

 

"It's fine. Everything will make sense in time, I'm sure." I respond. My tone indicates I would be winking.

The others seem to have gotten their food, which they're currently eating; Abigail seems particularly happy, being fed pizza slices by a male Shadow.

There seems to be pieces of actual bubblegum hidden within the ice cream.

"Um, sorry to be rude, but would you like me to possess you to help you eat? You seem to be struggling quite a bit." The Shadow asks, blushing slightly.

 

"Flowers I've never seen before I have trouble understanding. Furthermore, sometimes people just grow flowers to mean things other than emotion, so I get confused."

"I... uh... sorry I brought it up."

"The spell inside killed them."

"Well, don't let me distract you too much."

She looks for any art on the ceiling or something.

 

Amoungst the unlit, hanging chandeliers, there is artwork of what appears to be Light and Shadow creatures battling; one half of the ceiling white and the other black. Two powerful looking Light and Shadow creatures lock blades in the middle. The Shadow almost looks like it's holding a Katana.

 

Ihra pulls her tongue back into her mouth.
"Mister Shadow, what are those light things that are on the ceiling?"

 

The large Shadow walks over to Ihra, "Those are Light Creatures, the essential opposite to us. That artwork depicts a war from many, many years ago, sparking from when the old Light queen killed the old Shadow king. A new king and queen were elected after the battle, having each side lose their royalty." He explains.

 

"Are you still at war with them?"

 

"Luckily, no. After two very powerful Shadows, our now king and queen, wiped out a large portion of the Light creature's armies and killed the king and queen, they surrendered. We formed a truce and we've kept the peace since. In fact, a high ranking general of the Light creature's armies has come to the king and queen for assistance against a possible new foe." The large Shadow explains.

The large Shadow points to the Shadow locking swords, "I'm not sure how our king managed to get through the armies and kill the Light king and queen. His weapon is something to be awed. I believe he's called it Shadow Katana since the war." He says.

Ihra faints.

"I know what you mean now..." She weakly utters to you telepathically.

 

"What? The fact I'm god king of the Shadows?" I respond.


"Oh my, she's fainted. Guards, please take Ihra to the bedrooms." The large Shadow calls.

A pair of armoured Shadows pick Ihra up and carry her off.

"Where are you taking her?" Artemis asks, getting up from the table.

"One of the palace bedrooms. She'll be safer there, since she seems to have fainted for some reason." The large Shadow explains.

"Probably all that sugar." Abigail says between bites.


The armoured Shadows carefully place Ihra in a soft bed a few rooms from the dining hall, covering her over.

"Didn't the queen say she needed light?"

"Hmm, yes, I beleive she did."

One of the armoured Shadows affixes a crystal above Ihra's bed, which emantes a soft light over Ihra.
