Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra looks a little offput.
"People know me here? Did I do something wrong?"

 

"Ahahaha, no no. The queen mentioned that you may be coming with the others. We have something special prepared for you; follow." The large Shadow says, walking in the opposite direction I was taken.

"How does the queen know about us?" Katie asks, following the large Shadow.

"Well, quite simply, she's been following your adventures. I thought you knew." The large Shadow replies.

"Ugh, great, another pair of eyes." Abigail says, annoyed.

 

Ihra follows.
"I wouldn't worry about people watching us, Abigail. Unless you're now going to start calling the queen a pervert too..."

 

"The queen is a pervert though." Abigail says.

The large Shadow suddenly spins around, drawing his sword and holding it against Abigail's neck.

"I'd watch your mouth, young lady." The large Shadow says, glaring at Abigail before removing the blade; putting it back in its sheath.

Abigail seems petrified.


After a bit of walking, the group comes to a much smaller pair of doors. Upon heading through, a large room filled with multiple tables is revealed. A pair of much larger chairs and table resides at the back of the room, and one table is lit by candles.

"Here we are. Please take a seat." The large Shadow says, guiding the group over to the candlelit table.

 

Ihra does as told, glancing and chuckling at Abigail.
"I can't believe that worked."

 

A few Shadows walk over to Ihra, holding a jar of honey almost the size of her, placing it in front of her. Another Shadow places a silver platter next to her; upon taking off its lid, a large pile of cookies is revealed.

"A gift from the queen, Ihra. She mentioned you had a strong liking for both of these," The large Shadow says turning to the others, "Now, what would you like? We can provide anything you wish."

"Pizza!" Abigail says happily.

"Uhm, an omni-fruit salad?" Artemis asks.

"Can I have some smoked salmon?" Katie asks.

"Very well." The large Shadow says.

"And you? What would you two like to eat?" The large Shadow asks.

 

The crystal on Ihra's staff flickers.

"Uh... can't... hold... back..."
She starts scarfing down the cookies.

 

"Don't forget about that honey, Ihra." The large Shadow says, removing the lid from the honey.

"I think giving her those was a bad idea." Artemis says, concerned.

 

"Brightness makes sense. So, from white to black, or are the best and worst colours something else?"

"I'd be more concerned about keeping ourselves safe from her when she wakes up. She can't use whatever magic she has thanks to the bracelets, but she could still try to attack us if she's annoyed when she wakes up."

Some rubbed out letters? That's odd...
Arnold continues looking for anything strange.

"Yes, Aj did say that we could come. Sorry if there has been any confusion."
They follow the group and sit down at the table when they enter the room.

I say, "Haven't had food in a while... chocolate soup?"
"WHAT?!"
"It was a perfectly normal tradition at the village I tried it in."
"Uhh... okay... since we're going for strange things, I might as well have bubblegum icecream."
"What is this 'bubblegum'? Sounds poisonous..."
Idala sighs.

 

"Chocolate soup and bubblegum icecream, it shall be done," The large Shadow says, smiling, "It's funny, the queen's form requested quite a bit of ice cream last time she was here."

 

Her focus turns to the honey. Her tongue is apparently like that of a butterfly, and she just starts drinking the honey, clearly pleased.
All manners have gone out the window. She's in heaven.

"More like from vibrant colors to black. White or pale colors means I'm getting tired."

"Maybe you should've gotten a better introduction with her."

You put what you know together, then realize something.

"Don't blink. Behind you."

 

OOC: These two things are actually things I've had in real life. I seem to have found the strangest things in lots of countries... Bubblegum ice cream in England, chocolate soup in France, chip pizza in France... who knows what else I'm going to find...

"I'm glad lots of people like ice cream. It has sort of become something everyone likes."
"I still don't understand what it is..."
"One magician was able to make it in the Void Palace, but he only knew the spell to turn lead into ice cream, which he could only get from the sorcerer who turns air into different metals. So yeah, quite hard to get, so he used it on his birthday to make everyone want to come."
"That explains why I haven't tried it. There are some people you don't want to be in a party with..."
"But I liked the random hallucination spells bombs!"

Aura looks at the flower from earlier (if it's still there? Idk what happened to it).

"I would have, but the first time she used up all her energy and went unconscious. The second time she wasn't interested in staying with us and having a good introduction. All she wants to do is look around this whole world and anything she can find connected to it, like the Void Palace. If she finds that, she isn't going to go away from it anytime soon."

Slightly suspiciously, Arnold turns round to look behind him.

 

The large Shadow seems quite happy, "I'm sure her highness would be quite happy to see she has pleased you." He says.

OOC: Bubblegum Icecream is the best.

"Ah, I almost forgot, would any of you like an eating assistant?" The large Shadow asks.

"Eating assistant?" Artemis asks, confused.

"Someone to help you eat your food; you don't have to lift a finger."

"Uhh, no thanks." Artemis says.

"I want one." Abigail says with a serious tone.

"No, thank you." Katie says.

 

I say, "Erm... actually I might need one... I haven't eaten for a few... umm..."
"Millenia?"
"Around thirty thousand years?"
"Oh great... and no thanks."

OOC: So the God of Darkness, Overseer of the Darklands needs someone to help him eat... yeah.

 

It's a sky blue flower that bloomed in the direction Aura was during their greeting.

Emily's levitating.
"I see you've found out some of the secrets around the books in the library. Many are omens or special sigils that only activate their spells when read. Be careful you don't trigger a trap."

Ihra just keeps downing the honey.

The crystal flashes once more.

"Aj, the queen gave me honey! Is everything going okay where you are?" Ihra asks telepathically, obviously distracted.

 

OOC: It's just a Shadow who feeds you like a child, really.

"That's fine; sometimes his and her highness have eating assistants. There's nothing wrong with it." The large Shadow says, before turning and walking off.

He turns back, "Sorry to sound rude, but do you have a preference of gender for your assistant?" He asks.

"I want a hot dude!" Abigail shouts.

Artemis shakes her head, embarassed.

"Yeah, just getting changed. Blah blah blah royalty blah blah blah meeting blah blah blah king and queen." I respond.

 

"Do they call you for stuff a lot?"

 

"Sgavrinn, what does the sky blue flower mean? I'm guessing you use them to greet people?"

"I've had to wait 10,000 years sitting inside a derelict hut in the remains of my kingdom. Waiting an hour isn't much time at all for me."

"So... what does this particular one do?"
He makes sure to look in Emily's direction without blinking.

OOC: I guessed it might be.

"It's fine. And I don't have a gender preference."

 

"Yes, it's meant to show curiosity."

"Nothing. You're fine... the ones we're aware of do nothing significant."

 

"Not as much as they used to. They usually only call me in for important descions regarding the realm. I've tried to avoid my responsibilities, truthfully, which probably isn't too good." I respond.

"Very well, your food will be ready shortly." The large Shadow says, walking off.
