Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Ah, I see." I then turn around and explore the palace to see if I might run into the library.

"Well, apperantly she tends to the gardens in the palace, and doesn't know how to fight."

 

"Wait. Sir... Why do you ask?"

"Hmm... I don't see why she's worthy of our focus."

 

"I'm a newcomer. One of the two recently admitted volunteers. I just wanted to get to know the place better."

"I don't either, but my other body wanted me to tell you about her for some reason."

 

"Oh... okay. I didn't mean to be in the way..."
Her tone of voice suggests deceit.

"Strange. You sure your other half is reasonable in the slightest?"

 

"It's fine." I say, a tone of suspicion in my voice, before heading out to find the library.

"I can't answer that. I don't want to trash my other half, but at the same time I feel he needs to think things through more thoroughly...wait...he just told me to tell you that he thinks there's more than meets the eye to Pyk."

 

I let out a deep sigh, "I was...and I suppose I still am if there are remnants. We were attacked by the enemy tribes. I was wounded and then forced to flee. I checked on an ally of ours. Their name isn't important. They weren't there. I arrived at a racist town, and rented an inn. The innkeeper must've been working for the enemy. You know the rest." I pause for a moment, then continue, "So, are you going to help me escape?"

 

"Uhm... Reunite with their world?"

"Ooooooo." Some glowing, slightly transparent hands begin to show on the sides of the ravine. "Yoou have awakened the dead whoo sssslumber beneath the moountain. Woooorld musssst burn." The hands become bodies, a horde of Lares.

 

She shivers as you walk away.

You managed to find the entrance of the palace. Hell, there's gotta be a map of this place somewhere...

"Again, what's so relevant about this Pyk?"

"I don't know. Have I killed you yet? Are you still thinking about killing me?"

"My other half..."

"Which mountain? What?! You three, get out and get Xephyr to flee with you."
Vei's blades erupt once again with energy.

 

"I dont plan in killing you," I say. "But I'll show no mercy if you betray me. Now, help me open this door." I walk up to the hatch and start to open it.

 

"Express your mood? By how the flowers smell or their colour?"

Strange, I think, why would this book be in more than one language, especially the Dark Script? Not much is written in Dark Script unless it is either a powerful spell... or something which is more than meets the eye.
Arnold looks through the book for anything which might be different to the one in common tongue.

"Thank you!"
Seeing the others going out, she takes her clothes, goes into one of the changing rooms and comes out again in her dress.

I say, "I would like to come too."
I turn to the other three and says, "Would any of you like to come?"
"No, I want to look after Hryth and the others.", says Hythania.
"I'm guarding Anna", says Daras
Idala says, "I'll come!"

 

"Do you want to come to make sure she doesn't get lost? I'm not going to be around guarding her, I have business to attend to." I ask.

"The S-Shadow palace is like a castle, y-yes." The Shadow says.

"Remember what?" Katie whispers back, confused.

"Sure, you two can come!" I say happily.

"S-Sir, are you fully sure inviting so many people to the palace is a g-good idea!?" The Shadow asks, concerned.

"They're friends. I can trust them." I say.

 

OOC: Hehehe... going to be fun seeing how Ihra reacts.

"U-Um, if i-it's alright, y-you'll be in the d-dining hall f-first. H-His majesty's d-duties are very p-private." The Shadow stutters, nervous.

 

The clawed hand pulls open the hatch, and a human-like dragon reaches down to help you up.
"Come on. You don't have much time."

"Both."

"How soon will Anna wake up?"

Certain bits of text are colored differently throughout the book.

"Nev- -nk" is all you've found so far.

"I'll be fine."
"Canwegocanwegocanwego?"

"Part of her is still a child..." Ruby grumbles.

"His Majesty? Weren't you just talking about a queen?"

 

"Yeah, we should probably get going." I say.

A dark portal opens up next to the Shadow.

"W-We have a k-king and a q-queen." The Shadow says.

"It's complicated." I say.

 

"They don't try to kill each other?"
"Ihra, just... Just behave."
"You need to not die. Our world's still counting on you, remember?"

She prepares and absorbs a charge.
"I remember."

Ihra steps towards the portal, then looks at you as if ask-
"Can we go now?"

 

"We're not that barbaric, Ihra." I say, stepping toward the portal.

The group heads through the portal.

 

"Ah, very well. That would be understandable. I would sometimes do the same with those in my own kingdom."

"What colours mean different things? I know stereotypical colours resemble certain things, but your flowers could be different."

Strange, why colour them in different texts?
He continues looking through for any different things.

I follow, with Idala close behind.

 

"Sorry."
She darts through.

"The brighter the color, the happier I am. Scents make it feel more real. Pleasant scents are me trying to show affection back, generally. Less pleasant ones signal distrust or fear."

"Well, I suppose we can keep her safe that long."

The group finds themselves in front of a massive pair of doors in a large hallway; as if it were made for a giant.


A few Shadows surround me, guiding me away from the others.

"Yes, I know, it's not like I haven't been here before." I say as I'm guided away from the group.

"Uh, see you guys later!" I shout, waving.

"Bye Aj..." Artemis says, almost to herself.

A large, armoured Shadow approaches the group. A blade rests at his waist.

"Ah, you must be Artemis, Abigail, Katie and Ihra." He says, looking to each person as he says their name.

"Hmm, you two weren't mentioned. I hope you have permission to be here." The large Shadow says, looking at you and Idala.

"Aj seemed pretty chill with them coming." Abigail says.

"Oh! Oh my, sorry for doubting you." The large Shadow says.
