Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Could you explain what's going on? I don't know anyone named Opal." I say. "This is a strange dream." I say quietly to myself.

 

"That's probably a good idea..."

"You aren't dreaming. Someone from town spiked your drink and turned you in here. Some Nok-naan tribe emptied your vault. They were going to kill you, but I stashed you down there hoping they wouldn't want to look in an empty vault. And they didn't."

 

OOC: Is vulgarity allowed?
"That bastard!" I curse the barman, silently vowing to end his life. "So, who are you, and why should I trust you?"

 

"I'm Opal, and you have no reason to trust me. I was wandering the desert when the Nok-naan came upon me. I'm no match for an army."

 

"This is...interesting..." I take a look around the garden.

 

"Not quite sure I know how? I don't even know what you are."

"We are the resssstlessss dead. We are the ssssleeplessss night. We are the wakeful abysssss. We are the inssssom-"

"Oh my gods."

"Must I rend yoooour sooooul to ssssilence yoooou?" He bellows at the blizzard.

 

There are shrubs and trees lining the paths, and a single black flower sits in the middle of a circle.

"The blade..."

"So why didn't they kill you? My tribe used to try and stay away from them, because they were known to attack without mercy. And are you here to rescue me, or kill me? And what are the motives for your actions?" I ask. I hope that she can handle the mouthful of questions.

 

"They want me to help break the walls around some nation. My motives are... I don't know. I'm not here to kill you.

...Wait.
Your tribe? Are you a chief?"

 

I walk closer to the flower, curious.

 

It's a black flower whose petals are almost completely transparent.

There's a barrier around it.

 

I look around to see if there are any Draconians nearby.

 

There's one about young Ihra's size trimming a hedge. She has a pink flower in her horns, stem carefully woven in.

 

"I guessed that, but how, what, why? Ugh, just tell me how to free you or whatever."

"I don't take orders from you."

"Khione? Don't anger anyone."

"Hmmph." The snow and the wind seem to relent considerably. "Whatever."

"Asss I wassss sssaying. I am the inssssomniac that ssstalks the moooon. I am the awakened sssstars. I. Am. Oooooothrail." He unleashes an unearthly, high-pitch screech, then pauses.

 

"I am the moon of their shattered world... Reunite..."

"So... Uthrail, did I get that right? Uh... Might I ask what's going on?"

 

"Uhm, excuse me. Can you please tell me what this place is? I would very much appreciate it."

 

"It's the palace garden, sir."
She seems a bit nervous.

 

"Ah, thank you. Can you tell me a little bit about what your job here in the garden is?" I secretly steal an ability from her.

 

You steal something that makes your tongue a bit numb.
"I'm just supposed to take care of it, especially the Void Flower. I spend my days out here, and though it's lonely, the plants keep me company."

 

"Ah...and...what is the...void flower?" I quickly try to steal another ability from her to counter the numbness.
