Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well... That would be a problem."

"I wonder how much history we've lost..."
"More than you think."
"I don't want that image..."

 

"Why? Is there something bad about darkness with you?" I ask.

Artemis seems interested, "What do you mean by lost history?" She asks.

 

I sit I the floor, waiting for Opal to talk again.

 

"No, just confirming."

"As in the history of our world. Since it kind of got trashed."

 

"Don't you have written records of your world though? Has Xlentia already destroyed it?" Artemis asks, mildly concerned.

 

"Hey, you still alive down there?"
A beasts's claw pries open the hatch partway.

"I know them. I just don't know precisely how bad the situation is."

 

"Well, just know we're here to help if you need it." Artemis says, smiling.

Noticing the rising moon, Abigail says "Do you think we should get out now? We've been in for quite a while."

"Yeah, we have been in for a long time." I comment.

"I wouldn't mind getting out. I'm feeling sort of tired." Artemis says.

Myria yawns, "It is possible to have too much of a good thing. I think we've all relaxed enough now." Myria says.

 

"Thanks."

"Rest easy. I'll keep watch."

 

The party gets out of the pool, heading towards the flowers to collect their stuff before going to get changed.

A short while later, everyone gets out of the changing rooms.

"Hey, I think we've forgotten about someone..." I say.

Katie gasps, "We forgot about Stephanie! It's night too, I hope she's alright!" Katie says, concerned.

"I should go look for her. I can protect myself." Myria says, summoning her scythe in her hands.


A pair of red eyes observes the group from a distance.

 

I pull out my crossbow and load it.

"Yes, I'm still here." I call out.

 

A certain voice in the sky says "I wanna see where she ended up, so to be useful I'll be eyes in the sky or whatever." A certain voice says.

I check around to see if anything changed drastically.
OOC: just went through the portal.

 

You don't have any bolts. Were you captured?
"Good. They're almost gone."
Their claws are attached to a scaled hand.

Nothing major. The portal brings you back to Xlentia's hoard, where she's currently sleeping.
She just looks like a solid black dome.

"Aj, is that you?" Ihra calls out.

 

Silently, I whisper, "My liege, I shall head over to the library." I then proceed to walk back to the library.

 

"A glaring reflection of the sun. The worst enemy to someone who actually has eyes."

 

You take a wrong turn, finding yourself at a garden of sorts.

"That's clever. I like the way you think."

 

"Thanks. But never rely on that strategy. Make it a last-ditch effort."

 

"Of course. Niche advantages add up, though."

 

"If you can use them in the right way. Such as fighting with the sun pointed towards you, then angling your weapon in a way that reflects the light in your opponent's eyes as you charge."
Pause.
"How's the group doing, by the way?"

 

"They're fine, about to look for Stephanie."

 

"Oh. She's not back yet."
Pause.
"I'll wait a little while."
