What's The Best Build For Mages?

I want to play through everything as a Mage, but don't know how to build. So far, I've just chucked all my points in Intelligence, for a total of 50 right now, but should I keep going or invest in something else?

 

My intelligence is highest but throw some points in either strength or defense too

 

Ehh... depends on your style of playing. Are you a tank, ranged melee, etc.

 

I'd like to have some def so I don't get shredded, while also being able to spam high-damage Meteor/Ice Snakes. How to achieve this?

 

Guess you want either def or agl along with intel. I would say agl because water air items are every where but water fire isn't bad either. Intel should be at least 80

 

Based off the weapons it gets,
If you choose fire, have air as well.
If you choose air, just max that out.
If you choose thunder, do not choose earth.
If you choose earth, do not choose thunder.
Always get water to at least 70.

 

So I think you get a total of 200 points, correct me if I'm wrong, if you reach L101. I guess I'll get Intelligence up to 80, then max out Agility and grab the last 20 points in Defense. Is that a good plan?

 

Yup.Maybe intelligence to 94 if you want to have 2 mana meteors.

 

My problem with that is I'd hardly have any Fire, so Meteor would probably do less damage.

Depend on your style. But for me, I am using run for your lyfe build, but some time if I have to fight it is going to be meteor storm from everywhere, enemy aren't able to move or even see me, but if he got lucky hit my health is fastly coming back, and 5 minutes later... you already know what is going to happen. soo buff int and agi

 

I'm fairly new, so am I making a mistake only putting points into int and def?

Also, int is a big thing for mages as they rely on mana like I rely on my chocolate cookies.

 

But I thought you relied on coffee?

 

Why would that be? It is a viable build. Strange, but still certainly workable.

 

I have 100 int but still cost 3 mana

 

There are literally no thunder/earth weapons for mage.

 

Well, I suppose that is fair enough, but there is not much stopping you from simply using a thunder and an earth weapon in tandem, such as Lightningrod and Yggdrasil.
