Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Why is that?" I ask, confused.

 

"Too far. Plus, we'd get sick, die that way."

 

"Well, I mean, Stephanie could just open a portal home from the Realm of Shadows. But, why would you get sick?" I ask, "It's not winter; you won't catch a cold."

 

"What you may be immune to, we're not. Furthermore, Ihra's been exposed to Shadow Home already. If it's safe for her, I know it's safe for me. Not like disease can affect a container, but that's not my point."

 

The lab coat is hydrophobic, so Q is still relatively dry. But his wet hair is dripping into his eyes. He stands up and shakes his head, spraying water everywhere like a dog. His lower arms morph into metal blades (Terminator style)

 

"Yeah but...Shadow Home is all dark and stuff. It tends to have adverse effects on those who aren't Shadows or protected from its effects. Plus, Ihra needs sunlight. It's not like Earth is crawling with diseases you're going to catch; if anything, the Realm of Shadows is far worse because we're not actively trying to stop disease, because we're immune to it," I explain, "Also, healing magic isn't just for wounds; it can heal sickness too."

"Oh, and I think when I took Ihra there, she started dying and melted my bed." I add.

 

"She's been exposed. She was already dying before you took her there, and she melted your bed because she threw up."

"Why can't we make a home here? I want to not have to sleep on grass. Or a dragon. Maybe once."

 

"Making a home is a pretty big process, especially if you want it to accommodate all of us. We have a home back on Earth, I don't get why Ruby is so anti-Earth," I say, mildly confused and annoyed, "We have video games, we could go out to a bar, we could order pizza and watch TV. Fun times!"

 

"Drake had a fort... We're stronger than him! Why couldn't we make it work?"

"And how many people are used to draconians, shadows, and dragons just waltzing around knowing jack shit about the culture?"

 

"Well, there aren't many Shadows, and people tend to be intimidated by those who wander around. Dragons are rarely seen, and draconians are unheard of. But when you have guardians and the like, people don't tend to question it. I'm sure they'd either be scared or curious, or think you were wearing a costume." I explain, "I'm sure if they saw you with me, they wouldn't harm or question you. A Shadow is something to be feared and respected."

 

"Interesting."
"Do they have other things to sleep on?"
Ruby rolls her eyes.

 

"We have beds. They're incredibly comfy and warm. We have a guest bedroom with two beds, conveniently." I say, smiling.

"Our house is pretty big, but I'm sure it's hardly big to someone who's stayed in a mansion designed for a gigantic dragon." I say, smiling at Ruby.

 

"I fit behind the desk. I'm sure I'll manage." She smirks.

 

"Hmm, well I guess when Artemis gets back, we could get going." I say.

Conveniently, Artemis and Myria appear to return; signified by a large flower sprouting from the ground nearby and blooming.

Artemis looks exhausted, while Myria much less so. Artemis heads over to Ihra, Ruby and I.

"Hey...I'm back...from training." Artemis says through heavy breaths.

I hug Artemis, "I was starting to miss you. How was it?" I ask.

"It went well...I'm just really...tired out." Artemis replies, exhausted.

"We've actually been considering going home for a bit; we need rest, and it would give Ihra and Ruby a chance to see Earth." I say happily.

"That sounds...nice." Artemis says, leaning on me.

 

"Earth? Haven't heard that name in a while." A voice echoes.

"We're not alone. Great."
Ruby sinks under the surface of the lava pool.

 

I draw Shadow Katana immediately. Artemis spins her bow, transforming it into a scythe. The pair of us stand back to back.

"Who are you?" I ask.

 

"The messenger. I'd recommend you don't shoot me."
A large box is dropped in front of you, stamped with blue ink: SURVIVOR

"This little scamp didn't die with the planet."

OOC: This is definitely not the reality we're in. Don't question it. Or if you do, I'm going to ignore you for the most part.

 

OOC: You mean like Earth and stuff? I wasn't planning on having it be the same (Guardians and stuff).

"What?" I ask, confused.

I nervously approach the box. Artemis follows.

 

OOC: One of many reasons and things. Just making sure.

But I may be having a little fun rn. Maybe.

"He wasn't native, thus didn't die to the disease. I was surprised he was immune to it. I tried using him to trace his home and return him, but I found you instead. Farewell."

The box has breathing holes. Kind of odd, stereotypical, whatever... Why a cardboard box? It's kind of stupid.
You hear someone or something breathing inside.

 

OOC: *suspicous looks* You know, if you wanted Earth to be a no go, you could just do your host override nope you can't go there thing. Or just say Ihra blows up if she leaves her world. That would be hilarous and prevention-y.

"Uh...hello?" I try asking the box.
