Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We were just saying how cute you two look together." Katie says quietly, giggling.

"Shhh! Don't tell him!" I say, covering Katie's mouth.

 

"I mean the smoke, emitting from her mouth. Or is this one of those, 'only people who don't know the person well can see it' things?"
I don't seems to be joking at all.

 

"Hmm...looks like I might have left her with an unfortunate present. At least it's getting purged from her system, though." I say, looking at the dark fog.

"You did that to her?" Katie asks, shocked.

"On accident. I think it was the proximity to my shadow crystal for so long, as well as my possession of her that did it." I reply.

The pair of red eyes blink at you.

 

"So, what does it do, exactly?"
I'm still making sure my hands are under her head.

 

"It's just a bit of darkness, I'm sure she'll be fine," I say, "It's the stuff I'm made of, anyway."

The red eyes seem to be closer now; they seem to be...sniffing you?

 

I back up a little bit.
"Okay, good. Now, what does it do to anyone else?"

 

"Well, if it stays with you for too long, it could kill you. It might try to infect you too, so I don't recommend touching it," I say, "I guess it could create a Shadow, but I'm pretty doubtful it could do that in the amount she's breathing out."

The pair of red eyes try to get closer, but can't seem to get past the fog.

 

"If you say so."
I don't move much, I'm just weary of the fog, and I keep checking on Stephanie to make sure she's okay.

 

Stephanie seems to have a quite clear glow now, and the fog tumbles its way outwards. She remains peacefully asleep.

The pair of red eyes disappear; if they were even real in the first place.

 

Keeping her proped up, I make sure I don't touch too much of the fog.

 

As time goes on, the fog becomes harder and harder to avoid.

Suddenly, the fog gets taken away. It seems to be drawn to my hand, which then flows into a phial.

"Thought you could use some help." I say.

 

"Thanks."
I say quietly, as to not wake Stephanie up.

 

The glow seems to be fading from Stephanie, and she breathes less fog.

A short while later, the fog stops completely. Stephanie opens her eyes slowly.

"Oh..hey thirteen...I feel better now...thanks for whatever...you did." Stephanie says lazily, smiling up at you.

 

"No problem. But I don't think it's directly what I did."
I say, smiling, and looking at AJ.

 

"I can say 85% of your recovery was due to Thirteen." I say, smiling back.

Katie giggles.

"Wow...thirteen...that's so kind of you...I really owe you one." Stephanie says happily, smiling.

 

"Trust me, you don't owe me anything."
I say, slowly lifting her head up, so she's upright now.

 

"Haha, alright." Stephanie says, smiling; re-adjusting herself so she's sitting up a little better, facing you.

Katie giggles a little more, and I smile at the two of you.

 

I smile at you and Katie, before taking my hands off Stephanie.
"You'll be fine now?"
I ask her.

 

"Yeah, I should be," Stephanie says, smiling, "Thanks, Thirteen."

Stephanie reaches into her cloak and pulls out a pair of drawings, "I almost forgot, I drew these for you." Stephanie says, handing you the drawings.

 

I observe the drawings.
"Thanks. Really."
