"Yes, I saw her in this world trying to kill Ihra and take her staff. She was massive..."

Aura lies down next to Sgavrinn again as if nothing had happened.

"If we can purify her, so is her heart. The stories about her... She's far from evil."

Sgavrinn lies down as well.

"Daras, what did you mean by that? What did you think she was?"

"Is there a problem, sir?"
Seems you've attracted the attention of a passersby draconian.

 

"I guess so... but she still looks scary."

Hryth floats towards Aura.
"You know I gave him a Speech Flower, right?"
"Oh..."
It seems that Sgavrinn can hear Aura speak.

"I guess so... still, it worries me when you're trying to help a giant deity who doesn't want you to help her."

Aura says, "It's fine... besides, you didn't know that I'd had a Speech Flower."

I say, "We are giving her a chance. It's just that Chrono Leech was apparently given to her race by those who hated her race. I don't know what her race is though."
"It's Krontyri. How hard is that to remember..."

I start reading the book.

 

"Well, she's corrupted. Of course she would resist being purified..."

"So... Your name is Aura? What kind of dragon are you?"

"Krontyri? Not exactly easy, but Chrono Leech sounds... Unneccesary. She seems nice enough, if not a little scared."

It's a record of the Lost Kingdom's army numbers.
Nothing too interesting, but it's odd that the pages are dry and unstuck, yet some of the salt residue remains.

 

"Makes sense. When you're trying to get rid of something, it just doesn't want to go..."

"I'm a Wind Dragon. I guess that makes sense from this."
Sgavrinn gets more gentle wind.
"What dragon are you.. err... was it Sgavrinn?"

I say to Reed, "Chrono comes from their origins. Leech... I think whoever came up with that had a lot of reason to dislike them.

I'm not sure scared is the right word. In fact, I don't know why she disappeared as soon as she could."
I say to Anna, "So... why did you try to get away from us?"
"I wasn't trying to get away from you forever of course. No, I wanted to have a look around. I need to get used to my surroundings."

OOC: While some books went into the sea, many just got burned, trampled on or hidden under rubble for so long that they just disintegrated.

Arnold takes another book from the shelf and reads it.

 

"Yep. Just like the Hive..."

"Yes, I'm a Sage dragon, just like Ihra is a Sage draconian. I was made as a gift for her."

It's a written copy of a novel. It looks like draconian handwriting... Or at least, not human.

 

"I'm not sure. I don't think it should be too long, though, because he died whilst he was still strong," Stephanie says, my crystal turning her hand visibly darker, "If you have any potent spells that create darkness, that would help."

"I guess when you have all the time in the world, you can read a cities worth of books," I respond, "I'm sure you're quite sick and tired of reading, but know quite a few languages by now."

 

"I can't do darkness. Not yet. Yet to learn that stuff... Maybe a basic shade covering from flowers or something?"

"Reading isn't the only thing I can do."

OOC: I'm guessing the shadow world/realm has their own language?

 

OOC: Shadows do have their own (and very confusing) language, yes. Speaking might sound hard, as to an outsider it would be strange (and disturbing) noises slightly reminiscent of language, but writing is near impossible to understand.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt," Stephanie says, "But, do you think it could cover me? I'd rather hold on to Aj's shadow crystal, lest it be destroyed; or worse, used."

"Oh?" I respond.

 

"Or just a tree. That's easy."
Cue a fast-growing tree.


"I am possibly the smartest draconian alive. And it's not good for my ego." She replies smugly in the Shadow language.
(OOC: I'll just tag what language crap is in unless it's the common tongue. I can't remember (or make up) enough things to write out that many different languages and translations)

 

Stephanie sits in the shade of the tree. She summons a rather plain looking bracelet with what looks like a slot where a gem would be. She carefully puts my shadow crystal in the slot, before slipping the bracelet on and taking out her sketchbook and pencil; drawing again.

"That's quite the language you have there. I'm guessing you picked that up by reading my mind?" I respond in my native tongue.

OOC: I've seen the other languages in the RP, I'm not about to start typing out random mashes of sentences then translating them straight after.

Because it's hard to understand.

 

"Are those crystals all life forms that are half-dead?"


"No, actually. Mistress encountered a shadow during her explorations... It failed miserably in attacking her, and she assimilated its knowledge into herself, and then into me. The language was a part of it."

 

"Well, shadow crystals are essentially the souls of shadows whose physical bodies have been destroyed. They're protected by the crystal, and may heal and re-form; however they can also be used to augment weaponry or kill the shadow entirely," Stephanie explains, "These effects may be copied with normal beings however, using 'soul crystals'. If you place some or all of your soul into a mage crystal, it works the same way; but you'd need to find a new body instead of being able to re-form one."

"Oh, uh...was it me? I've had an encounter with her, and Ihra told me Shadows aren't native to this world." I respond.

 

"That's... concerning."

"No. They died. It's also possible Xlentia visited your world in the distant past. I don't know where all she's explored in her life. She's surprisingly adventurous."

 

"How so?" Stephanie asks, confused.

"If she did, then I probably wasn't around to see it. I was most likely in the Realm of Shadows, like most other Shadows, essentially waiting to be summoned. Of course, that was in my younger years were I considered being summoned a big thing that had some relevance, even though it's essentially slave labour for some shadowmancer." I respond.

 

"I dunno. He's crazy strong, then someone can turn him into a slave just like that."

"So... Your race is essentially willing slaves? That's... Disappointing."

 

"He, like other Shadows, can be bound to a contract. Though apparently after a while he just decided to stop taking them, disappointing anyone who wanted to summon him."

"Well, considering most below high tier Shadows aren't exactly 'sentient', following commands like a robot, it's not really surprising. Most higher tier Shadows don't really allow themselves to be summoned and bound to a contract to do stuff. We're our own beings, and times have changed. Quite a lot of the higher tiers simply allow the summoning for an easy meal, slaughtering whoever was foolish enough to summon them." I respond.

 

"Weird. Well... What if they tried by force?"

"That's smart. Why don't you just butcher all who use your kind like tools?"
