Where Did The Pigmen Come From?

They attacked humans in wynn because humans were cursed

 

the real question is where the pandarians and other assorted CotL mobs keep getting weapons from

 

Humans had angered the nether, so the Corruption started attacking them. However, if the Pigmen are undead, how are they in Gavel?

They get them off of dead bodies?

In Wynncraft, you can't build. Lorewise, the Nether doesn't affect Gavel, or there would be the Corruption there, too.

Also, the Nether Portal in vanilla is build with obsidian and fire.

If Pigmen came from the Nether in Wynncraft lore, then why don't we see blazes in Mt. Wynn, the emerald trail cavern, and the Ravines?
(Though there are the Pig Zomblazes... how do you explain them?)

Going to actually think about this.
Let's look at pigmen ravines.
Why are they here?
Simple: the wild boars in Time Valley. They get corrupted. That was easy.
But the others are trickier.
Let's look at the cave on the emerald trail. There are all sorts of strange mobs in there. Some have fire related abilities.
I think the corruption has been testing new monsters to send at us. I mean, the way this group has inhabited a ruined cave in the Emerald Trail... it just smells of spying on Ragni.
But why send some really strong scouts with fiery abilities?
Well, there are lots of new adventurers roaming around Ragni, cutting down any enemies they see before them. I see at least one other adventurer in this area at a time. So it is hard to use zombies as scouts, or those goblins, because they are so easily killed.
But pigmen? You just hide them in a cave and they sneak out at night to have a look at Ragni and the adventurers. If they kill an adventurer out there, that's a bonus. If they are attacked by multiple people, they can easily win the fight or get away.
Now for Mount Wynn. We see lots of fire in Mount Wynn and the ones in Emerald trail are fire related. This sounds to me like one of the conditions to create them is fire, which is why they are in Mount Wynn. So 'naturally' created ones are at Mount Wynn.
The problem is, Pigmen Ravines don't have fire. However, that doesn't mean that they need fire to sustain them. In fact, we can clearly see that. Instead, they inhabited these barren valleys, using the Wild Boars to create more of themselves. They get used to stealthy arts in the ravines and then just scout around Emerald Trail.
However, they seem to be a big threat. In fact, there are so many pigmen there that Ragni might have a problem against them... but who knows?

 

Well when a Zombie loves a Pig very very much, then *POOF* there's s baby zombiepigman. And that kids is how a zombiepigman is made.

 

Zombies have no emotions.

Is the Corruption intelligent? It seems like some corrupted mobs, like the Rotten Necromancer, have smarts, but the corruption as a whole isn't all too smart, just a very powerful force. It seems unlikely that the Emerald Trail pigmen would be sent to spy on Ragni, though it could be possible. That brings up another question- Just how smart are Corrupted mobs?
Looking at the evidence, I don't think that the Pigmen are a Nether mob (though I haven't explored the Roots of Corruption much, I could be wrong...) but a fire mob. They spawn in fire, and can propagate through the death of pigs. However, this doesn't explain the reported Mountainous Pigmen in Gavel with the Dogun. We can explain everything in Wynn, but what the heck is going on with them?

 

Are the Pigmen undead?

 

My theory (Yes, I read all other response before this):

Pigman are an Ancient race, old as the tribes in the Dernel Jungle and maybe the ancients themselves. Because of their odd lack of fur, they suck out warmth leading them to the enclose revines, caves and mountains. When the corruption was exposed to the wynn province and the decay in gavel, the weak minded creatures were easily corrupted to their undead state and their desire to attack the Furman warriors and humans in general. But they are still creatures with a since of home so they do not journey with out reason of their place of birth.

It was the potatoes guys. The pigmen were made by potatoes to supplement their meals. Bacons and fries, remember?

This could very well be true.
It would be interesting, though, to see a quest or something on the origin of the Pigmen.

The Pigmen aren't just in the Ravines near Time Valley.there's Mt. Wynn, the Emerald Trail, and the Mountainous Pigmen in Gavel.

I am not quite sure what you are talking about; I get most of my lore from the Wiki as I'm not far into the game. Could you fill me in? From some person's Wynncraft Timeline I saw something along the lines of a butcher being killed for making stuff out of Gert, but I'm not there yet...
