as to reason to reply I may be kinda biased but this is a great thread.
if you think this should be locked you are more than welcome to report the necro and ask for a lock.

 

Actually they did change, whites went from 50-64 to 80-110

 

1) this thread has the average breeding price not the market price, please read the thread and comments before assuming things.
2) quoted the rules, if you want to report the necro you can, no one is going to stop you.

Did you actually read it?

It is about what a horse is worth, *calculated*, based on the prices you buy them for at the merchant.

You talk about the player-made prices, which is not what the topic is.
Please, read the thread first before brining up such "arguments".

@Yuno F Gasai This is definitely the thread I was looking for on horse prices! Good calculations; off the top of my head for breeding a Chestnut and White (the way I did it) was to do it this way:
144 (price of black horse) + 144 + 144 + 144 + 144 + 144 = 864 emerald blocks

1st Breeding............2nd....3rd....4th.....5th

But I believe my math was contingent on getting black horses in return from the breeding process so you'd have to add in another 144 * 1.5 (30% chance for breeding 5 times) to bring back the black horses that you lost in the processes. This comes out to 1,080 emerald blocks (16.875 le). My reasoning seems correct, and so does yours so that throws me off as to why the answers are different :P (still close, though!) I'll resolve and say yours is the correct one; I was never a big fan of Statistics class! Great job here :)

Also for the people saying, "This isn't what horses actually cost" I'd just like to say that in due time, this will be the price that it equilibrates at as the reduced prices that have come from the old VIP horse merchant are sure to dwindle in supply as older players may move on from the game. Needless to say, there is technically an endless supply of white/chestnut/black horses so long as the player can afford it. It is not like there is anything limiting them being brought into the game in the first place (once they have finished the quest). The market will come down (or up) to around their equilibrium prices if not already. I don't see why a seller would trade off his white horse for ~64le if statistically nowadays you can't obtain one without risking twice that! Capitalism, man.

Where did the 144 come from?

 

144 being the price of a black horse (in emerald blocks). So you take Horse 1 worth 144 eb + Horse 2 also worth 144 eb, etc etc
It's a bit confusing, I know, but so is a lot of how my brain works during Final's Week...

Every simulation cycle was timed for taking one hour.
The results were saved in a txt-file.
