Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I say, "Can anyone detect her still?"
Daras says, "There is a mind a few miles away to the east. I can't reach them to check who it is though."
Idala says, "I can detect a powerful soul over there too. It has to be them, there isn't much else which is that powerful."
I say, "Okay, me and Daras will go after them."
"But I want to go!"
"If they are actually dangerous, then you could be turned against us or worse."
Idala sighs.

 

"Child, don't fret. They only want what's best for you; and I promise you being dead isn't the best thing for you."

 

"I don't know what to do with her..." I say quietly, mostly to myself.

I shake my head, walking away; towards the hill where Stephanie sits.

Artemis seems concerned for both Ruby and I, yet keeps healing Ruby.

 

I tell my men to stay calm. I cry into the darkness, "We can negotiate. I just want to talk." As the fire draws nearer, I pray to every god out there that the other men get here soon.

 

"I'm sorry... I didn't want to die, then I... I... I can't... I'm sorry... I didn't... Please... I...
I don't know, okay?! I'm used to being revered as a goddess... I didn't mean to be so rude! Have mercy... Please!"

Still silence.

You hear the sound of battle in the direction you had your other force flank.

 

"I know... I just want to help."

"I guess we'll go then, unless anyone else is planning on coming."

 

"Come, I'll keep you company. Sgavrinn is a good boy, too."
Ragnyon gives a patient smile, offering her staff to help Idala onto Sgavrinn.

 

"You do not let a criminal out of jail because he has shown regret for what he has done, for all criminals have felt that. If you do something wrong, it must be equalled with punishment. You have one chance, Ruby. If you harm my daughter or her friends, you shall meet greater harm than you dealt to them." Myria says with a stern tone.

Artemis looks to me, then to Ruby, confused on what to do.


"Hey. Can I sit next to you?" I ask.

"Sure..." Stephanie responds.

"Are you feeling alright? You've been acting strangely after Thirteen spoke to you." I ask, concerned.

"I'm fi...no. No, I'm not feeling alright." Stephanie confesses, sadness lacing her every word.

 

I decide to charge through the fire towards the sound of battle, hoping that if I'm quick enough I won't be hurt very much.

 

Ruby swallows hard.
"Then punish me."

Seeing no other way out, most of your men follow you. You get out with minir burns, but half of your group doesn't make it.

 

I solute the fallen men, and then investigate the sound of fighting.

 

I go fly east into the air, with Daras following close behind.

"Thanks."
Idala climbs onto Sgavrinn.
Aura inspects Sgavrinn curiously.

[Still in the 'overworld', in the air]

I say, "There she is, just over there."
"Doesn't look like she's seen us. Should we try to surprise her?"
"It's hard to be surprised by me, Daras. You're the one who's stealthy. If she turns out to be hostile, I can just blast her with darkness. If not, then I can come down and try talking to her."
"Thought you'd never ask."

 

Your other force is surrounded by most of the Nok-naan warriors. They're losing, trying to retreat.

Sgavrinn sniffs at Aura.

"What kind of magic do you like?"

 

"I've pardoned you of your first offence. As I said, one chance. Do not waste it," Myria says, "You've yet to earn my trust, but I put faith in my daughter and her boyfriend that they know what they're doing. It was Aj who stopped me from killing you a few moments ago."


OOC: NO BRAIN STOOOOOOOOP! YOU DO NOT THINK THAT!

 

"A servant once again... What can I do for now?"

 

"You're not a servant, you're on an equal level with the rest of us. I hope you can assist us with your knowledge, for you seem to know a lot about Xlentia. Information about her would be appreciated." Myria says.

"Um, when did Xlentia become corrupt, if I may ask?" Artemis asks.


"I understand why it might have been hard to tell the others that. I just wish you'd told me sooner; I want to help. Emotional struggles aren't something to be swept under the rug." I say, trying to comfort Stephanie.

"Thanks, Aj," Stephanie says, resting her head on my shoulder, "As helpful as Myria was, I think it's easier to tell you about it. You've known me for longer, anyway..."

 

I charge in, yelling a fearsome battle scream. I brutally stab 3 of the enemies to scare them and raise my troops morale. I look for their leader.

 

"I don't know the answer to that. I was busying myself with the one who drained me of my blood."

 

"I use soul magic. As it's name says, it's based around souls. I can look at souls and use them to cast spells. I'm can also make basic charms."
Aura lies down next to Sgavrinn. You can see that Aura's metallic silver skin is turning a slightly reddish-black colour.

Daras dives down towards the girl.
Who instantly turns round.
"Hello. Who are you?"
"Daras. How did you notice me coming? Very few can do that."
She smiles. "I just can. It isn't hard."
"Can we trust you or do I have to bring you back at knife point?"

 

"Oh, who was that?" Artemis asks.

Myria keeps an eye on Ruby.
