Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What? We're two separate entities. Stop being so simple minded." Shadow Stephanie says.

"It can be quite hard to wrap your head around Shadows, though." Stephanie says.

"It does take quite a bit of brain power to figure out that a Shadow and their mortal form are essentially two people, though." Shadow Stephanie responds.

The pair high five.

 

"I don't care."

 

Shadow Stephanie raises a hand, and you become paralysed.

"Don't be rude." Shadow Stephanie says.

Shadow Stephanie disappears, and you feel the paralysis start to wear off.

Stephanie giggles.

 

I yell in surprise, "What!? Another attack? I think we've all had enough of this by now. Thanks for reporting this, scout. Go get some rest, as it seems you've been running a while." I send him off. I start to gather my troops around me to tell them about the attack.

 

"Ugh. This is why it is hard to not plot against you guys."

 

"What? It's just a bit of fun, you know," Stephanie says, offended, "If you plot against us, we'll plot against you."

 

"Eh."
I say, shrugging, and joining the conversation.
"You lot can go a bit overboard sometimes, more than people like. Lucky me, it hasn't happened to me yet."

 

"What do you mean by 'Overboard'?" Stephanie asks, slightly offended yet curious.

 

"Well, to list one event, holding a real blade to Katie neck while roleplaying. Another main thing is just the amount of power you guys have. What I'm saying, is that what seems fun to you guys, might seem harmful to those inferior of power, or even around you."

 

"Well...I only used a real blade to add to the realism, to make it look better for you. Also, just because we're powerful doesn't mean we're going to go around whacking each other over the head with wooden planks because we can't feel harm! I'm just human! Aj is probably the most powerful out of all of us and he stays in a sociable, weaker form!" Stephanie says, offended.

"I'm not powerful enough to be able to take a bullet to the head, nor are any of us except Aj! Katie's been hurt by a simple blade! How can we be so powerful that we're on a different level to those below us!? We're not! I'm simply a girl who learned how to use magic!" Stephanie says, before teleporting away, offended. You can see her running off a short distance away.

"Goddamnit."
I say to myself.
"I need to learn how and when to keep my mouth shut."
It's evident I'm not going after Stephanie.

 

Stephanie sits down quite a distance away. It's hard to make out what she's doing.

"What did you do this time wonder boy?" Abigail asks, walking over, "Is your SPEECH statistic not high enough to talk to people without offending them?"

 

"To sum up a short talk, I said some stuff about how you guys are a Hell of a lot powerful than others, and it can freak others out."
Pause.
"I'm not too concerned. Stuff happens. We say bad things. People get upset. It happens all the time. I don't like getting worked up about it."

 

"So what you're saying is, you don't care what you say, and don't care if someone gets offended because you said it?" Abigail asks, "Well I can just say I despise you and hope you drown in a sewer while where you belong, you piece of sh*t. Nobody ever loved you, nobody will ever love you, and you deserve all the pain and suffering you can ever get. I don't care I offended you, because we say bad things and people get sad and that happens a lot so who cares."

"There's an emotion called 'Empathy', learn it," Abigail says, glaring at you, "You seriously don't care you just offended Stephanie? She even left your presence you offended her that much! You don't give a flying f*ck about that because it happens a lot so you should treat it as normal?"

 

"I do care that I've offended Stephanie, or at least as close as I can get to caring. But it's not like I can just glide over there, say I'm sorry, and then everything's fine. I've said what I've said, and Stephanie's pissed off. And it's completely my problem, and it's gonna bite me in the ass later. But there's nothing I can do now. That's just the way people work."
Pause.
"'Nobody ever loved you, nobody will ever love you,'"
I say, quoting Abigail.
"Boy, is that true."
I mumble.

 

"I don't know, maybe if you walked over there, said you were genuinely sorry for what you said and you want to make it up to her by sharing some fine tea or something, she'd accept your apology and everything would go back to how it was," Abigail says, "Everyone makes mistakes, but if you just let them linger around and never apologise for them, it's not going to just disappear. If you don't want it biting you in the ass, go say sorry. And don't be literal and fly over, say 'Sorry.' and go, actually make an effort to show you're sorry."

"Maybe you can get people to at least like you by not being such a doosh when you inevitably offend them." Abigail says.

 

"Alright, thanks. But I don't have any-"

I turn towards you, clearly expecting a favor.

 

"WOAAAAAHH!" I exclaim, "I didn't know you had the capability of doing that! I see you in a whole new light, Thirteen."

"Correction: Everything would not go back to how it was. There is still the lingering memory of the event, and, sometimes even an apology can't keep things from descending into chaos. I know it all too well."

"What is it?"

 

Abigail sighs, "I meant that as an example, and it loses half its sincerity if it's from someone else."

"Yes, but it's a whole lot better than just leaving it. If Thirteen were to apologise, it would show he at least has some care for Stephanie's feelings. You mess up, you apologise, things get better. Not fully the same, but better."

 

"Yeah, but I don't have anything else either. I don't carry consumables on me, since I don't need or want them."

"Do you have any extra tea, or something? As in, any neat-like consumable?"
