Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I wasn't planning to. I kind of switched off for a moment when I decided to turn back to normal size whilst still holding you." I say, embarrassed.


Katie sighs in relief, smiling at the sleeping pair.

"Good dragon." Katie says, cautiously reaching out to pet Sgavrinn.

 

"Well, all is well, I think. Where's Artemis?"

Sgavrinn hums in his slee upon being pet.

 

"Last time I checked she was running off to see Sgavrinn. Most likely still with him, I'd presume." I say.

"Wow, Aj. You don't even know where your girlfriend is?" Abigail says, shaking her head.


Katie giggles quietly, "No wonder Artemis likes you. You're a sweet dragon." Katie says, trying to keep her voice low.

 

"Should we find out on our own?"

Sgavrinn stretches his wings, yawns, the half-opens his eyes, head still laying on the ground listening.

He hums a few notes when he notices Katie.

 

Arnold reads the book.

"I'll see what I can do-"
I'm interrupted by a loud roar coming from the edge of Runetrel and a cracking sound.

"Even then it sort of seems wrong. Things like magic and love aren't meant to mix."

 

"I guess we should see if Sgavrinn's alright, at least." I say, looking around for Sgavrinn.


Katie smiles back at Sgavrinn, "Did you enjoy your nap?" She says happily.

"Toying with someone's deeper emotions is wrong, I must admit. Love, like trust, isn't a thing that can be bought. It must be earned with time with another." Abigail says.

"Love can be bought." I say, grinning.

"Oh?" Abigail says, raising an eyebrow.

"You just need to hire a pros-" Stephanie covers my mouth before I have a chance to finish what I'm saying.

"That's rather rude, don't you think?" Stephanie asks.

I try to say something, but my voice is muffled. After a short moment, Stephanie suddenly pulls her hand away; and I laugh.

"Ew, Aj! You just licked my hand!" Stephanie says, annoyed.

I just keep laughing.

 

Seems she was created in the room her hoard is in now. She was the size of a normal dragon then, though she was promised safety and refuge in her own power, given time.

It then discusses how she slowly grew both in size and power, leading up to The Shatter; the event that caused both her and Virei'tus to sacrifice themselves to save their world.

It ends with a quote from her;
"The white dragon cast her gaze upon me, promising a better life if I were to give her my service as she gracefully flew around me. She was spectral; many times my size. Yet, dawn shone from her wings; the only light The Void has ever seen.

I should have willingly accepted; she wouldn't accept no as an answer."

Sgavrinn only kind of blends in with the grass; Katie's visible.

Sgavrinn nods, albeit upside down.
He looks for Artemis, finds her beside him, then smiles, covering her with his wing.

 

I decide to head over to Katie and Sgavrinn, smiling as I walk over.


Katie cautiously pets Sgavrinn again.

Artemis remains asleep, looking peaceful. She turns in her sleep, facing Sgavrinn.

 

Sgavrinn nods at you, acknowledging your presence.

He hums at Katie again softly.

 

"Hey, Sgavrinn. How's Artemis?" I ask.

Katie smiles.

 

He hums happily, lifting his wing a bit to show you she's okay.

"He's like a big winged puppy..." Reed whispers.

 

OOC: Realised how much I forget things... I forgot the beam of light too XD.

You notice that the beam of light is coming quite close now.

"I wonder who this white dragon is... and who made the hall if she herself didn't?"
Arnold picks up a third book and starts reading.

You can see the roar came from an Infernal Beast, which is now charging through the city towards the port.

 

I smile, noticing Artemis sleeping peacefully.

"At least he doesn't bark; he just hums." Katie whispers back happily.

"Good boy, Sgavrinn. You deserve a treat." I say happily.

"What does he eat? Since he seems to be tied to nature, I'm unsure if he'd like meat." Katie asks.

I summon a raw steak in my hands, offering it to Sgavrinn, "Let's find out." I say, smiling.

I look up to the beam of light, concerned. I stay by Katie, however.


"What's that light?" Abigail asks, having noticed the beam.

 

His vine-like tongue accepts (ensnares) the food and eats it. He hums happily a bit.

 

"I... I don't know. I haven't seen something like it before."
A few seconds later it hits the ground. It doesn't hit the group, but you can feel a shockwave coming from it when it lands.
The resulting explosion leaves a crater in the ground.

 

"You like that?" I ask happily.

I suddenly get distracted, running off.

"Whoa, what the hell was that?" Abigail asks.


I run off to where the beam of light landed, my speed increasing rather quickly as I begin to get close.

I look into the crater the thing left.

 

When the dust clears, you see a glowing aura of magic in the centre.

 

I slide down the crater, cautiously approaching the magic.

I summon a rather random stick in my hand and poke it, not wanting to risk Shadow Katana.

 

You realize you've killed about a day worth of time.

A draconian approaches.
"Arnold?"

"Let's show them the power of the storm."
She raises her lance, poised to throw.

A tornado forms just behind the Infernal Beast.

Sgavrinn nudges Artemis, rolling to his feet.

 

Artemis murmurs a little, her eyes opening.

She yawns, "Oh, hey Sgavrinn...how long was I out? Feels a lot longer than five minutes..." Artemis asks.

"You've been asleep for quite a while. You looked cute next to Sgavrinn; he's a good dragon." Katie says, smiling.

Artemis gently pets Sgavrinn, getting up.
