It just sticks in.

@Nepeta Leijon Artemis notices a poison trying to spread through the blank.

 

I summon a book that I had compiled from all my dragon resources, looking for what to do if a dragon starts sleepwalking.

"That was poisonous." Artemis says.

Katie puts her hand on the Blank's open bolt wound, and draws out the poison. Stephanie summons an empty phial, which Katie deposits the poison in.

 

"Re-usable?"
I ask, reaching for more bolts.

 

Artemis causes the Blank to pull out the bolt.

"I guess you could just dip it back into the poison," Stephanie says, holding up the phial of poison, "You'd need to get the poison first, however."

 

I eye Stephanie, and sigh.
"Just give me the bolt. Poison or not, it's useful."

 

The Blank gives you back the bolt. In any other circumstance, the victim giving the offender their spent ammunition back might be weird.

Stephanie passes you the poison.

 

After a while, it's clear that a sleepwalking dragon is a first-time event.

You could always wake him up, but he was tuckered out after almost drowning...

You grab one with a black stripe, another plasma bolt, and another shrapnel bolt.

 

I dip the tip of the bolt in the poison, and re-stash it.
I hand Stephanie the poison back.

I load the one with the black stripe.

I re-stash the Plasma and Shrapnel bolts.

 

Stephanie de-summons the poison.

 

It's a bit heavier than the others.

Firing at the blank, the bolt is really slow but it punches all the way through.

"I think there was some magic to that one, it really hurt." Artemis says.

Abigail retrieves the bolt and hands it back to you.

"What do we call that, the cannonball bolt?"

I re-stash the bolt, and try grabbing another.

 

"Sure." Artemis says.

"Couldn't you just look at all the bolts you have and choose ones you haven't chosen yet?" Katie asks, watching your random method of picking bolts.

 

"...Yeah, that'd probably be better."

I lay most of the bolts I have.

 

Artemis facepalms.

 

You have the plasma, shrapnel, poison, bullet, and cannonball bolts, as well as one with a large blue stripe.
That seems to be all there is.

 

I load the one with the blue stripe.

"Ready when you are."
I say to Artemis.

 

"Fire away." Artemis says. Katie seems to like the blue colouring.

"Hey Katie, if you could draw the poison out of the Blank, couldn't you draw the potion out of Abigail?" I ask, turning to Katie.

"I guess I might, but it would be very hard. The potion's flowing all around her, and I'd need to carefully separate it from her blood to get it out. The blank was easy because it doesn't really have blood." Katie replies happily.

"Buuuut, you could...right?" I say.

"Theoretically yes, but it would take a lot of time and focus to not accidentally kill her." Katie says.

I look at Abigail, thinking.
