Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"He won't be back soon. I'm sure of it."

 

"That's good. Who was he? What did he want?"

 

"He wanted to see his sister. He's Virei'tus, our world's other deity."

 

"He killed a few armed squadrons just to SEE his sister?"

 

"We would've tried to kill him. He struck first and made us give him his opening."

 

"Resistance?" Artemis asks, confused.

Katie helps Ragnyon out of the pool, before getting out herself.

I shrink back to normal size in an aura of darkness.

 

"Fair enough, I guess. What should we do now?"

 

"Old name for the group against The Hive."
Ragnyon stumbles over to Virei'tus.
"You made it."
"Yep."
"There's hope!" Ihra cheers.

"Strike anyways, unless you have a better plan."

 

"I should try to save Xlentia more often. It seems to inadvertently save others too." I say, smiling at the reunion.

Artemis walks over to me and hugs me, for no apparent reason.

"I need hugs." She says quietly.

"Maybe we could reform the resistance, but call it A Shadow Of The Resistance." Abigail says, winking at me.

 

"It'd be nice if you succeeded. She wasn't breathing for a long while."

Ihra doesn't seem amused. Neither does Ragnyon.

 

"Yes, we should strike them now while the trail is still fresh. Do you have any more strike teams ready?"

 

"I think she's still corrupt. Something corrupting a demigod just doesn't up and leave without giving notice; I might have given her strength to fight back, but I feel as if there's a large battle ahead." I say.

Abigail holds her hand out in my direction expectantly.

"What...what do you mean by that?" I ask, puzzled.

"Skateboard and glasses so I can ollie out from these squares." Abigail says flatly.

I summon Abigail's red shades in her hand, and her firey-patterened skateboard next to her feet. Abigail puts on her shades in place of her visor, and jumps on her skateboard before riding off.

"Later squares." Abigail says as she does an awesome flip on her skateboard.

 

"Yes, two more."
They mass teleport in front of you.
"We may as well."

"Not a demigod, but you're right. You'll need a pure soul to purge her of the corruption he has now."
"That's why Ihra's the Chosen One!"
"Correct."
"WHAT?!"

 

"Which is why she'll give up her soul and fight the corruption within Xlentia." I say.

"Virei'tus, if a soul where to merge with Xlentia, would it be able to be taken back, or would it be trapped?" Artemis asks, curious.

Stephnaie throws a few crystals into the air. They explode into electricity, which fizzles out quickly.

 

"It would be trapped."
"I like my mother's will a whole lot less now! I didn't know she wanted me to die!!"

 

"Is there no way it could be taken back?" Artemis asks, looking at me.

 

"Nope."
Ihra crumples into a crying heap.

 

Katie walks over to Ihra, trying to console her.

"Sacrifice one to save another..." Stephanie says.

"It's a monumental task for Ihra to perform..." Artemis says, quite shocked.

Stephanie summons a blank idol, and starts carving Ihra's likeness into it.

 

"I don't know what I want to do anymore..."
"This is why we weren't going to tell her."

 

"You don't have to give up your soul to save Xlentia; I'm sure there's another way to save her." Katie says, hugging Ihra.

"Maybe...we could...kill Xlentia? To free Ihra, so I could bring her back." Artemis says, but she seems against it.

"Somehow I feel as if someone had all this planned out from the beginning. Whether it was Vei or some greater force, it feels like...fate." I say.

Stephanie seems to have carved a crude image of Ihra posing heroically; she continues chipping away at the idol.
