Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I think we'll need to awaken the beast that is Abigail; though she'll probably wake up when Ihra does." I say.

Katie slides into the water with Ragnyon, floating on it's surface too.

 

"I've heard of Gods, demigods and humans doing many different and powerful things, but Xlentia's power and kindness surpasses all of them by far."
Arnold moves towards a fifth journal.

 

"Ihra? Is that what the Chosen One is called?"

"I write this in hopes it is not destroyed.
She came, furious, without warning. She emptied the town before the army. A king is nothing without his subjects just as a god is nothing without followers.

My powers are vastly inferior to hers. We cannot hope to win this war. My country in shambles, in such a short time.

To any who read this, I recommend you bow down, lest you wish to die."

 

"Yes...I think. She wields a staff called Miz...Miznyana...I can't remember how to pronounce it." I say.

 

"You travel with her and think her name is Ihra?"
Ragnyon is skeptical. Ihra stirs.

 

"No, she's called Ihra. I'm unsure if she's the chosen one though. I'm assuming yes." I say.

Abigail nudges Ihra gently.

 

She opens her eyes partway, then groans.
"Is it over?"
"I sense no previous mind control. She is the Chosen One."
"Who are you?"
"Ragnyon, child."
"Wait... Like the one from the stories?"
"There are stories written about me?!"
"Yeah!" Ihra perks up. "I really like the one where they get mad at you for predicting the Hive Master's death!"
Ragnyon looks nervous.
"Eheh... Um... That, uh... Kinda happened."
"WHAT?! But the story said you died!"
"I thought I did too."
"Those chain marks..."

Ihra also fails to heal the wounds.
"Wha..."
"I don't know, child. I'll make do."
"Aj, can we bring her with us?"

 

"Hehe... and bow down I will.", Arnold says to no-one in particular.
He moves over to the encyclopaedias and starts reading through one.

 

It's what you'd expect from an encyclopedia.
You picked up the F-H book.

 

"Yes, we can. I plan to keep her with us; she has nowhere else to go." I say through Ragnyon.

"Are you alright, Ihra?" Abigail says, standing up and stretching her wings.

 

"Thanks."
"A prophet will be fun! Yeah, I'm fine."
"Fun?! Erm..."

 

"She has a knack for telling less favourable events." I say through Ragnyon.

"I'm glad to see you're feeling better." Abigail says.

"Should we get travelling while the day is still young?" Stephanie asks, walking over.

 

Ragnyon looks into Ihra's future, then gasps.
Ihra runs over to hug Stephanie.
"Maybe my job does more harm than help..."

 

Stephanie hugs Ihra tightly.

"Hey, Ihra!" Katie says happily, walking over to Ihra.

"What did you see?" I ask; having cut my vision respectfully.

 

Ragnyon tells you telepathically.
"She's absorbed by Xlentia, and after that, her body lay motionless next to her."

"Katie, I don't wanna die..." Ihra whimpers.

 

"That's...horrible...I, I don't know what we could do about her body, but...if she was absorbed...her soul would be with Xlentia and so Artemis couldn't take it..." My thoughts seem to have strayed from telepathic conversation to planning.

"We'll keep you safe, don't worry!" Katie says reassuringly, smiling.

"What's wrong, Ihra? You seem distressed." Stephanie asks, concerned.

 

Ragnyon projects the vision, using enough blood to make her pale.

"That's why..." Ihra mutters.

 

Stephanie, Katie and Artemis all seem rather shocked.

"Ihra...I had no idea..." Katie says, dumbfounded.

"I guess that's your fate..." Stephanie says, hugging Ihra again.

"Your body seems to remain intact, though. Maybe if we could recover that, I could put your soul back into it...if we could get it from Xlentia..." Artemis says.

I take a little control over Ragnyon, helping her stand from the blood loss.

Abigail looks down on Ihra solemnly.

 

"I hope so. Or at least carry out mother's will before it happens."
"I hope I'm wrong..." Ragnyon mutters.

 

"What was your mother's will?" Katie asks, curious.

"You said you were never wrong; so we either roll with it or I use some time trickery." I say to Ragnyon telepathically.
