"Wha-"

Katie suddenly leaps out of the pool towards me, knocking me to the floor.

"Morning!" She says whilst lying on top of me.

"Well you seem energetic..." I comment.

 

"That's Katie? Hello."
Ragnyon holds her hand out to shake, though it's clear she can't shake it on her own.

 

"Hi!" Katie says happily, a blue glow surrounding her fish tail; replacing it with legs.

Katie gets up and shakes Ragnyon's hand.

 

"My name is Ragnyon, I found myself near your group in the middle of the night... Aj was nice enough to let me tag along with your group."

She glances at you.
"Dare I read her?"

 

"Nice to meet you, Ragnyon!" Katie says happily.

"You can if you want; you've done it with everyone else." I say flatly.

 

She holds her staff between Katie and her, blood running up to the crystal.

Katie sees herself sitting in an underwater palace, waking up.

"That was one of the more plain visions I've seen today..."

 

"That looks like home!" Katie says happily.

"You're getting better at this, it seems." I say, smiling.

"Katie, Ragnyon's an Aquos; she's tied with water like you." I say, turning to Katie.

Katie's eyes light up with joy, "Really!?" She asks excitedly.

 

With a raise of her crippled hand, Katie gets water dumped on her from behind.

"Yes, though I'm... uh... A bit handicapped."
She's shaky standing still.
"

 

Katie laughs, forming the water around her into a sphere.

"We've been having trouble healing her; it seems some null magic is tied with her and won't go." Artemis says solemnly.

"Oh, no..." Katie says sadly, "Well, maybe I could help. I can do a bit of healing too."

 

"You're welcome to try, but if you can't, don't feel bad. You wouldn't be the only one."

 

Katie uses the sphere of water to form liquid bracelets around Ragnyon's wrists. The water begins to glow, and Katie starts to heal Ragnyon.

Katie smiles as her eyes begin to glow blue.

 

Again, same result; nothing happens.
Ragnyon falls over again, then props herself up with her staff.
"This staff is the best thing that's happened to me..." She mutters, bitter.

 

"Are you sure you don't want me to empower you? Why don't you try it for a bit and see how you feel?" I ask, concerned.

"It's nothing bad, trust me." Artemis says, smiling.

Katie seems slightly disheartened, dropping the water.

 

"I guess you can try, but... I don't think it'd help."

 

I empower Ragnyon, supplying my own strength to her legs to help her stand. As I empower her, her whole body seems to turn a shade darker.

"How do you feel now?" My voice says in Ragnyon's mind.

 

"Still doesn't hurt, but still shaky. I don't think it's a worthy use of your presence."

To add insult to injury, she stumbles into Katie's pool.
"That's not intentional, I'm sorry..."
She seems to float just fine.

 

I take control over Ragnyon temporarily, swimming her out of Katie's pool and standing strong for a moment; before giving control back to her.

"How did that feel?" I say, quite proud of myself.

 

"No different than usual, except numb..."

 

"If you wanted, I could take control if you felt tired. I'd use my own energy instead of yours, and you could take a rest." I say happily.

Katie looks at Ragnyon oddly, "It's weird when shadows possess people like that..." She comments.

 

"Maybe, but when am I going anywhere fast?"
She slides back into the water, preferring floating.
