Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie takes her claw, and closes her eyes; focusing.

"Hmm, yes, there's definitely traces of null magic here." Stephanie says, letting go of Ragnyon's claw and opening her eyes again.

"I know of a way to get rid of it, but it might weaken you a little bit; as well as bring back some unfortunate memories." Stephanie says, summoning a pair of crystal bracelets in her hands.

I wander over to Katie's pool, staring into its watery depths.

 

"Uh..."
Ragnyon looks hesitant.
"I guess...? Okay?"

 

Stephanie gently puts the bracelets on Ragnyon's wrists. They begin to sap the null magic, turning purple, as well as some of Ragnyon's own.

"It might take a while, but it should get rid of most of the infused magic." Stephanie says, smiling.

"Thanks, Stephanie. I owe you one." Artemis says happily.

 

They only absorb trace amounts of the null magic, absorbing much more of Ragnyon's magic. It seems that there were only trace amounts to begin with.
"Don't... think it's... working..." She moans, turning pale.

 

Stephanie quickly takes off the bracelets, observing them.

"That's odd, the absorption potency shouldn't have been that high." Stephanie says, confused.

Artemis tries healing Ragnyon's wrists again.

 

Still nothing.
"Thanks for trying... I'll make it up to you somehow."

 

"You don't owe us anything; there's no need to make it up to us. We just wanted to help, there's no need to repay us for that." Artemis says happily.

"I think the best reward would you being healed in the end; I'm sure the magic will dissipate naturally, so we'll try again later." Stephanie says.

Abigail lazily raises her head, looking over to the group; before looking towards the sunrise.

 

"Thanks...
...do you still want me to come with you?"

 

"I don't see why not. You're in no shape to be running around without some kind of protection, and I'm sure Ihra will take a shining to you." Artemis says happily.

Abigail gently nudges Ihra.

 

Ihra stirs a bit, but doesn't wake.
"Thanks... Though I'm not sure how I'll keep up. Abigail doesn't like water from what I heard..."

 

"She's friends with Katie, who's a water...oceanic...whatever, Guardian; the complete opposite of her." Stephanie says.

"I think Katie could help you, since she uses water too."

Abigail lets Ihra wake up in her own time, going back to defending her.

I dip my hand in Katie's pool.

 

"Thanks. I'll do what I can to avoid being a burden."

 

"Don't be so hard on yourself; I'm sure you'll be a valuable ally to have." Artemis says happily.

I take my hand out of Katie's pool. My hand seems to have been encased in ice.

 

"I was a liability in The Hive. I don't understand how I'll be different here, but I'll do my job the best I can. Thank you for the opportunity."

 

"Everyone has a use. Sometimes, you just need to find your calling." Stephanie says happily.

"I guess Katie doesn't want to be woken up yet." I say, walking over, hand still frozen.

"I wonder how Ihra's doing..." Artemis says, almost to herself.

"Want to roleplay to pass the time, Stephanie?" I ask.

"Can't. We need 13 and Katie in order to pick up where we left off." Stephanie says flatly.

 

She holds the orb between her and Stephanie, her blood crawling up the staff.

The vision shows her back at home, mourning at a tombstone.
You can't make out the name, but Aj and Abigail are there too.

 

"Wh-Why are you showing me this!?" Stephanie says, shocked, confused and saddened.

"What's wrong?" Artemis asks.

 

"I am a prophet. I look into the future. That's all I can do."

 

"B-But why would you show me that!?" Stephanie says, depressed and angry at the same time.

Artemis seems concerned, "What did you show her?" She asks.

 

"I don't control what I see..."
She says, looking rejected.
