Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"She's shown a mass fear of them, so on second thoughts, maybe having a golem follow you around isn't the greatest idea." I say, laughing slightly.

"I guess Katie could show you how to protect yourself with water; not exactly fighting, but freezing walls of water as a shield and the like." I say.

 

"If I'm near water, I'll be fine."

 

"Well, that's good to hear. I'm sure we'll face numerous dangers ahead, so protecting those unable to fight is important." I say, smiling at Ragnyon.

 

"I can escape if there's water. I'm not worried. Too much, at least."
She seems a bit shaky.
"A walking stick or staff would be nice, though."

 

"Hmm, I'll see what I can do about that." I say, before a dark aura surrounds me and I disappear.

I appear a few moments later holding a wooden staff. The top curves around itself multiple times, holding a transparent crystal at it's centre. The bottom of the staff seems flat, appropriate for walking with.

"Here, this is a fairly average staff in terms of magic; but I'm sure it will do fine as a walking stick." I say, handing the staff to Ragnyon.

 

"Can I swap the crystal for my orb? Is that an option?"

 

"I guess you could, if you wanted." I say, removing the transparent crystal from the staff. The top uncurls, waiting for a new item to be placed.

 

She holds her crystal in there and waits for the staff to close.

 

The staff curls around the crystal, sealing it tightly. The staff seems to radiate with power, a weak white aura surrounding it.

"Interesting; I guess the potency of the magical item you place within the staff affects how it reacts." I say, observing the staff.

 

"Thanks, this'll help a lot more than you might think."

 

"Anything to help those in need of it," I say, smiling, "I think you've been through far too much trouble to face more here."

 

"My life seems to never be done giving me hell. I'll manage."

 

"Maybe this is the point where that turns around." I say, smiling.

I sit down to meditate, hoping to pass time quicker.

 

"Heh, I can only hope. The only future I can't see is my own."

 

"Well, if anyone could, I'm sure they'd say that it's about to get brighter. Both figuratively, and literally." I say, closing my eyes.

I enter a trance-like state as I meditate, losing track of time.

 

The thought of the vision enters your mind.

Xlentia looks different... somehow.

 

I try and focus on the vision, attempting to study Xletnia's features.

 

The tendril coloring is different. It's not a dark red, it's a neon pinkish color with blue tips.
Everything else looks... well... black.

 

"I guess our fates are sealed," I think, "I'll find a way to free you Xlentia, don't you worry."

An image of me slaying a red, almost melting version of Xlentia appears in my mind.

"I'll save you from your corruption."

 

"Pardon the interruption, but does your land have prophets? I looked into this world, and it seems you too aren't from here."
