Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I slowly walk over to Stephanie and the Fairy.
I'm amused by the game.

 

It seems the chess is playing against itself. Stephanie sleeps next to it; unaware of your presence. The forest fairy glows lightly, sighing softly in her sleep.

I dart over to you, so fast it looks like I simply appear, my red eyes glowing ominously. After a moment, I dart away again.

 

Something flies in front of the moon.

 

I draw Shadow Katana; shadow wings growing from my back.

I stand over Artemis, wary of the stranger.

 

I stand next to AJ.
"What is it?"
I ask very quietly.

 

You hear them gasp, the thing moving backwards slowly.

 

"No clue. Too far to make out." I whisper.

I take off, headed towards the unknown being.

 

I stay near the group, in case something else comes.

 

Artemis murmurs in her sleep, yet remains sound asleep.

 

"Claire, hold." They whisper.

The being hovers, looking at you. It has four wings.

 

I look at the being with scepticism.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" I ask quietly, making sure Shadow Katana is in view.

 

Seeing this, I silently draw my sword, but I still keep my position.

 

"Rina. I saw the beast out here fall, Keila told me to investigate. You are?"
A rider shows themselves, hand on a lance.

 

"Aj. Is the beast your referring to Xlentia?" I say quietly, not fully trusting of the strangers.

I glance back at the group momentarily, making sure everything is alright.

 

I give you a thumbs-up.

 

"I don't know. I never saw it before. Xlentia sounds like the being Xephyr called her mistress."

Seeing you're still holding your blade, the rider takes their lance off their back.
"I don't want trouble."

 

I smile back.

"Then that's her. I know Xephyr, my group is friends with her." I say.

I sheathe Shadow Katana, though still somewhat wary.

 

She remounts her lance.
"Claire, stand down."
The beast lowers towards you. She climbs up on its head and holds her hand out.
"Nice to meet you, I guess. What went down here?"

 

I shake her hand.

"We were ambushed by a draconain called Nyre while my friends were roleplaying; severely injuring one of them. Xlentia got summoned, and I guess absorbed Nyre in the process, and my future self told me to fight her. I ended up calling out to her soul, the 'real' Xlentia, you might say, and she knocked herself out. My friends and I then pushed her back into the void; the process exhausted us, so most of them have fallen asleep," I explain, "I'm staying awake to guard them."

 

"That's.... terrifying. Are you all okay?"
You see someone else shift around on the beast.
