"There was a Wind Barrier surrounding her kingdom. Nobody tried going inside it. Though the Lost Kingdom seemed to have found it somehow."

 

"Then you're making progress. Have you considered that maybe other shadows start the same way? They kill, they regret, then they're consumed by it. Don't let regret consume you, else you'll fall to become just another shadow."

"That's one way to put it." Rineth chuckles.

"The Lost Kingdom? Mind sharing some background? Maybe about your lands too? And do you know anything about Brisingr?"
You seem to have struck a personal interest.

 

"Most Shadows are mindless creatures, summoned by sorcerers and sorceresses to do their bidding. They're simple; they just follow commands given to them. Only those above some of the greater shadows actually gain sentience. Most people just see us as another mindless shadow, out to kill; and most of us just follow that stereotype. I don't want to be seen as a mindless killing monster though, yet it seems I can't even accomplish that." I say in a depressed tone.

 

"Don't lose heart just yet. You may not think you've made progress, but you've done more than kill."

 

"Like what?" I say doubtfully.

 

Rineth chuckles.
"I am not a guiding light, I am simply another point of view."

 

"I almost killed Ihra, and apparently you," I say, "I can't escape myself."

 

"A destroyed island kingdom south of the Darklands. They started attacking other kingdoms. After they sent their full fleet to invade the Darklands, I decided to destroy them completely... I've always regretted doing that...

But anyway, the Darklands used to be an area of land which was inhabited by three different peoples. In the end, the peoples became allies, ruled by a monarch. Three towns started to form. Runetrel was trade based, Fellak was the capital and Nyme was a magical. For many millions of years, maybe more, until about 10,000 years ago, there was a war between Fellak and Nyme. They only united when the Darklands were attacked by the Lost Kingdom.

As for Brisingr, Brisingr is a more volcanic kingdom. Brisingr also has a God, called Reflet. I haven't seen or talked to her much, since she lives in the Core most of the time, but there was a war about the same time as the wars in the Darklands ended between Gargantuan and their neighbouring kingdoms. Brisingr was far more powerful and won their side of the war in a few weeks. Then Gargantuan spent many years fighting Emeraldonia, which was almost destroyed in the end."

You can see a mountain range in the distance. In the middle is a large section which has collapsed.

She flies out ahead a bit.
"That collapsed mountain where we're heading?"

"Well, you seem at least somewhat competent," Stephanie says, taking Katie, "You have hope yet."

"I've always wanted a personal maid; I think you'll do fine." Stephanie says to Katie, holding her tightly.

"I'll never serve you Violet! Nor will I serve your horrible gang!" Katie protests, spitting on Stephanie.

Stephanie pulls out a switchblade, and Katie's eyes widen in fear, "I think you will in time." Stephanie says, jamming the knife into Katie's arm.

The knife blade is pushed back, not even piercing Katie's arm. Katie screams in pain anyway.

"I'll give you first orders on our new maid, recruit. She'll do anything you say, or she'll face the consequences." Stephanie says, tightening her grip on Katie.

Katie whimpers.

"Serve as my eyes and open then; I'm clearly blind to whatever 'Hope' is held with me." I say.

I smile.
"Say, 'I'm a little helpless maid and Violet is my master.'"
I smirk.

 

"Good choice!" Stephanie says, impressed.

"I-I'm a little...helpless maid a-and Violet is m-my master." Katie says sadly.

"Anything else?" Stephanie asks, impressed by your commanding.

 

I smile at Stephanie.
"Awwww, c'mon."
I say, half-sweetly to Katie.
"I don't think I could hear you. Say it one more time? And clearly, this time. No stuttering."

 

"I'm a h-helpless maid and V-Violet is my m-master!" Katie says a little louder.

"He said NO STUTTERING!" Stephanie says, slapping the air just in front of Katie; Katie moves her head to make it look like Stephanie actually slapped her, whimpering

"I'M A HELPLESS MAID AND VIOLET IS MY MASTER!" Katie shouts through tears.

"Now, maid, to make up for your pitiful first two attempts, my lovely new sergeant will command you two more times," Stephanie says, "Your next command, Sergeant?"

 

OOC: Wow, perfect timing. I have to go get a haircut, but I get two more shots at this before hand. More waiting for you, I guess. (More time for me to think of things!)
