Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I teleport to directly in front of Aj, resting my gauntlet on his shoulder. I stare him straight in the eyes.

"Snap out of it Aj," I say, completely serious.

 

I simply stand motionless. The gauntlet slips right through me; you notice a slight darkness lingering on it.

 

"Artemis? Little help here?" I call over as I ready my poleaxe defensively.

 

"What's wrong?" Artemis asks, curious, walking over.

 

"See for yourself," I say, prodding Aj in the arm with the tip of my poleaxe.

 

The poleaxe just phases right through, darkness lingering on it.

"Uhh, I don't see the problem. You look fine to me Aj!" Artemis says happily, "I don't get what you want me to see. So you prodded him in the arm with your weapon...was something meant to happen?"

 

"So it's normal for him to not move for this long? Any longer than this and we'll be pushing a record. And it's not like we're having a staring contest or anything. This, coupled with the fact that he was acting alarmingly friendly towards our foes leads me to think that he's turned. And if not that, he's quite out of sorts otherwise."

 

Rineth backs up.
"You do what you need to do, I suppose."

OOC: Katie/Stephanie/the others probably find it odd that Artemis is just laughing.
"Well... What was crazy about her? I wasn't looking."

 

"And this is where the monsters are?"

 

"What? You two were just having a conversation; of course he wouldn't move!" Artemis says, confused and annoyed.

I just keep staring with ominous, hollow eyes.

Darkness snakes around Rineth's legs, slowing him down severely.


"She was acting like a cat, replacing words to make cat-related puns and pronoucing words with two 'e's weirdly. I think it might have something to do with her helmet." Artemis explains telepathically.

Stephanie gives Artemis an odd look, before dismissing it.

 

"Hey Aj, don't play these games with me."
His braces emit blades of light, and he holds them pointing towards the darkness.

...
"That's weird.
...what's a cat?"

 

The darkness grows, and the blades seem to dim. It seems even light is ineffective.


"A cat is a feline creature often kept as a housepet. They are fairly independant, however they're probably tied in popularity as a pet alongside dogs. A large number of people own cats where I come from," Artemis explains, "They're well known for their soft, furry bodies, their purring sounds when content and their meows of communication. They're also said to have 'Nine Lives' due to the amount of times they can avoid death in dangerous situations."

 

Rineth shuts off his blades.
"At least tell me what you plan to do with me..."

"That's weird. So it's like... I dunno. A mini dragon without wings? And has fur instead of scales?"

 

I stay silent, the darkness growing around me. My hollow stare becomes incredibly ominous; if it wasn't already.


"I guess it's sort of like that, yeah." Artemis responds happily.

 

"I've been revving up for a while, so this should be pretty effective."

I hold up my gauntlet, pointing it at Aj's chest, and as I do so, it begins to glow, softly at first, then brighter and brighter.

As I do this, I ask Artemis offhandedly, "Hey Artemis, what would you say Aj is doing right now? Just answer the question, please."

 

"Backing away because you're scaring him." Artemis says, nocking an arrow and aiming it at your gauntlet.

 

"Wrong answer. Keep aiming that arrow at me and Aj gets it. I'll back off if you aim at Aj, because only then will I know that you can be trusted."

The gauntlet is now almost impossible to look at.

 

OCC: Figured it was too self centered

"I mean, you could always head to No Man's Land, I guess. Expect hostility if the kingdom of Gargantuan finds you there, though."

Kalais and Zethes dissolve in to the wind, heading east. Khione follows as a meadowlark.

 

OOC: Dark tome bound to Xephyr thus bound to her energy. Darkness recharges dark energy, thus Xephyr feels less exhausted.
What logic? (And then tie it to Avis because Xephyr just ulti'd someone because they wanted Avis)

"Maybe off the coast, if we found the resources to do so. My hope was to be out of the way, but not so isolated trade was impossible. Still, I suppose beggars can't be choosers."

Vei keeps up via time fluxuations. Xephyr keeps up by making it cold enough to freeze the ground as she walks.

"So, we rest once we get there, then what?"

"Weird. Wouldn't they get stepped on or something?"

 

"What are the exact requirements on that?"
I ask, intrigued.
"Do you actually have to digest the flower, or..."
